I've not had much success with Paladins, but might be able to
offer some general advice...

Considering your Int, spellcasting isn't really a useful option.
You could try low level supportive spells (detect monsters for
example, if you find it), but don't expect to throw fireballs
around by spells.

Stick to the fighting, Invocations, and maybe Evocations if you
like wands and find a rod or so. To train Evocations, don't drop
the wands that you don't think useful (like polymorph other when
you've got some nifty offensive wand) but zap them at nothing
when you've got some Exp to burn, and do use the good wands.

Alternately get hold of a nifty crossbow or bow to do much damage
from afar, but start training either early, too.

I'd buy the amulet first, and forget about the +6 Str one unless
you're swimming in cash. Str isn't that important when you
starve, and there are more important protective rings that will
likely have you wondering which of the 10 different ones to wear.
A ring of strength gets dropped quickly by that point.

The ring of magical power isn't all that useful later on, either.
Same reason as above, you'll have more important rings to
consider. Rings of protection are always nice (nicer than +Stats
anyway), until you've find something more important.

Consider, you might want poison resistance, at least one level
each of fire, cold and negative energy resistance, lightning
resistance, perhaps a level of magic resistance, too, and maybe
something else I forgot. You'll have to have that somewhere in
your equipment... (Of course you could drop any or many of those
resistances and might still survive, but I'd try that if there
was no other option, not just to have a little more muscle.)

We might dream of finding a ring of Resist ALL!1!!, but that
isn't realistic. :) More likely there's lots of shuffling of
armour/weapon/jewelery and still something missing.

I'd buy this (if at all) instead of protection; 1 more point.

This one looks useful

This one is nice for the teleport control and EV, the Str and Int
are just a bonus, and you'll have to get an extra level of cold
resistance to counter the susceptibility.

Buy-at-once-item (well, as soon as possible). You're likely to be
very happy with this. (Who likes running around sick and hungry
half the time, and half the food you eat making you even sicker?)

> Strength 13/15 Dexterity 15 Intelligence 10

If you stick to swords, I'd forget about raising strength much
more and just pour everything into Dex. (No idea whether great
swords benefit from Str, though, the description doesn't say.)
The Int is high enough not to be worrying about death by stat-
loss.

See, with the amulet you could eat these without problem. Get up
to full or even engorged on the hunger scale...
