Cuban Finance Minister in China

Beijing, Ago 17 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Minister of Finances Georgina
Barreiro arrived Thursday in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou on the
first stop of a work visit and exchange of experiences with the Asian
nation.

The minister is accompanied by the vice ministers Alejandro Gil and Jose
Ely Llaguno, and will go to economic centers of Guangdong province, an
important industrial center of the southern part of the country.

"The objective of our stay is to strengthen ties between the Cuba Finance
Minister and the China Treasury Department," Barreiro said.

The officials moved to Guangzhou from Hanoi, Vietnam capital, where they
also had a busy schedule.

The delegation had on Thursday a meeting with high officials of the Finance
Province Office of Guangdong, where they received information about the
financial system in that region.

The Cuban minister also gave information on how the system works in the
island.

Barreiro will continue her program with visits to companies and other
regional entities that have important relations with Cuban organizations.
