Will mentioned the book once for the RMCG book list so I'll add
another good one:

why does E=mc2? (and why should we care?) by Brain Cox and Jeff
Forshaw.

Music content: Brian Cox was in a band and plays keyboard.

:)

No time for pleasure reading right at the moment. Can you sum up the
answer to both questions?

Great first minute.
I'll watch the rest later and give a complete review.

You'll have to read the book. It's a short book and now part of the
RMCG book list. Well worth the read if you are interested in science
education.

BTW, I got the book from a guy who started two hedge funds, one in
the US and one in Europe. I've read a number of the books from his
library on one of his estates including Absurdistan which I mentioned
in RMCG. Not your average financial dude. His masters was in computer
science.

Sorry, but if the book won't give me the ability to crisply answer the
title questions, I'm not interested. Glad you enjoyed it though.

I know v. little about hedge funds and the capital markets in
general. In the next few years I may pursue a CFA designation; that
should help.

The book answers the questions as succinctly as possible. Sorry.

It gave me a book to recommend besides "brief history".

Freaky stuff. Not something most people know much about even now.
His latest capital investment group is doing some weird things I had
never heard of before, mostly because it can't be done in the US.

He mentored with a guy who has his PhD in computer science. Both
have finance credentials too but it was their expertise in computer
science that gave them the edge.

I've seen little evidence that PhD's help people achieve success in
the business world. In fact most PhD's I've encountered in the
financial sector have been ineffective.

Interesting. How many finance dudes with PhDs in computer science
have you met?

Haha ... the first minute is indeed a bit odd, well ... unusual [;o)I think the documentary starts at the bicycle invention tracing the rainbow on the wall.
I had fun watching it.
Sheech! Summer is flying by so fast ... I will call soon! [;o) Mont Baker?
