Dang! She looks deathly serious with that thing between her lips.

Her husband passed out when he saw her in this pose.

Wish I could see what all the fuss is about, but there is nothing that
could entice me to sign up for a Facebook account, including
entreaties from my friends and family.

You can't see what the fuss is about because you're a curmudgeon and too
old. I can't see the appeal either because I don't like socializing and
I'm too old. Mostly, we're too old.

OTOH, I love the concept of a connections database. I suspect that if
you can create a relational database of persons, places, and things
you'll have a powerful tool to be used for your evil or good intents -
mostly evil. Imagine entering a few places, objects, and keywords into a
connection search engine and coming up with a name. Way too amazing!

Tread lightly. I was contacted yesterday by a girlfriend I hadn't seen
since about 1974.

The same thing happened to me too. Only she wasn't my girlfriend - just
a girl I used to stalk in high school and I was the one trying to find
her. Ha ha - just kidding. I got a friend request from the sister of a
high school classmate. That's kinda scary.

I had a goofy looking guy come into my office that was looking for my
wife. He said he was my wife's ex-boyfriend who was visiting from the
mainland. Gosh that guy was funny looking. He probably thought the same
thing about me. Welcome to a world where nobody can hide - even if
you're in the middle of nowhere.

It gets worse.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augment...

With GPS imbedded HD video and face recognition software you can
have a real "Face" book connected in four dimensions in a GIS map you
can overlay with whatever else you want.

It's a brave new world and everything can be hacked and will be
hacked.

It's going to be a different world alright. All our notions about
privacy will seem quaint and archaic and people will wonder how we used
to live in such a world. Here's an interesting set of commercials about
the future.
