Looking from a distance, the apparent inability to understand the other side seems to be a very prominent characteristic of the Tea Party movement. They promote their view as a religious doctrine (they cannot do much else, because their doctrine is not based on reality), and everybody who disagrees is a heretic. No discussion.
But Limbaugh is right on one point. He writes: “Every marginally intelligent person must know that events unfolding in Britain are a likely foreshadowing of what's in store for us if we don't radically alter our ways.”
One of the causes of Britain’s recent riots is the huge gap between those who have and those who have not. According to some recent figures, this gap is widening in the US: the top 1 percent of population receives 25% of all income and has 40% of all wealth of the nation. 25 years ago the figures were 12% and 33%.
So, follow Limbaugh’s advice and “alter radically your ways”. The direction is obvious.
