I dont really care that the entire field is GA, I hope it will bring
down demand and thus prices in the lot... the only problem I have with
it is there probably won't be price tiers ... at $100+ cost with
ticketbastard fees ... they should have the PIT at the high end and
all others at a lower price point.. why in God's name should people
who are going to be at 100 yards away pay the same as someone in the
first 20 yards.

because no one know who will be in the pit until they show up that night?

Because Bruce and Landau make more money this way.

Seriously though, Bruce Springtseen should be embarrassed that he is
going out there preaching about "Hard Times",
playing a "recession Pack" each night and yet he can't manage to tier
the ticket pricing for a 55,00 seat stadium show.

Wrong.
There are quite a few people who know right now they'll be in the PIT.
The same people who have been scamming the system the entire tour.

no, I mean sell PIT tickets, like they did jailbaits on the Reunion
Tour ... the people who for whatever reason NEED to be in the pit
night after night after night ALWAYS find a way in (they did on the
Reunion Tour and they will now). Get rid of the rigged friggin lottery
already. Go back to jailbaits.

I like the way U2 does their GA. They use a much lower tier price for
their GA (I think $55 before TM charges), and due to their stage
configuration, a higher percentage of their GA end up being closer to
the action. So not only do U2's GA buyers get a great price for what
is a massively more expensive production, there is also far less
chance of their GA ticket holders getting a terrible vantage point to
see the show.

Amy,
if they sold specific PIT tickets that would kind of defeat the
purpose of making the entire field GA to beat the scalpers. Could you
imagine the prices the brokers and Ebay would fetch for PIT Specific
tickets ? It would be even higher than the Magic and Reunion Stadium
shows because they would be the ONLY seats worth buying in the stadium.

Sell the pit the same way they sold jailbait tickets on the Reunion
tour. You show your picture ID at the door, you get your ticket and
wristband, and you go right inside to line up somewhere. Not all
arenas did this correctly on that tour, but it's a way to sell pit
tickets while cutting down on the resale tickets.

I like this note about the tiered pricing, from the TM site:

"To honor the 33-year history of Giants Stadium there is a special $33
ticket. This is commemorative of the wonderful decades of memories the
venue has generated."

I read this literally to mean that out of the 50,000 or so tickets,
one of them is priced at $33. :)

That may not be too far-fetched ;-) Kind of like the Golden Ticket.
Seriously, though, I am betting there won't be more than a few dozen
at that price :-(
