We (the Reiher at home) watch "Chalk" last night ... a mockumentary on teachers/students in the U.S.A.... quite funny. "Real teaching leaves a mark" ....

Education is local and global. It's not just in schools but is part
and parcel with the local culture.

It's easy to mock most formal education systems. All are pretty lame
compared to any ideal system and pretty funny, in a really sad way.
The US has many different local educational systems even within
communities just a few miles from each other.

Most of us know education is messed up but it seems we are not as
willing to pay for it with our own personal time. Instead we complain
endlessly, blame others, then turn on our favorite mindless
entertainment and forget about it.
