Theramore scenario

Catriona R

Just had a few runs through the Theramore scenario on Horde side, I'm
guessing they tuned it low for the pre-expansion event? Zero trouble
blasting through it duo with my bf lol, just had a 3rd character on
follow to avoid messing around with randoms, and get more loot between
us. 372 ilvl bear plus 354 shadowpriest, dead easy, although I'm not
sure I'd be keen to duo it without something tankish since when I had
a shot at going catform it was painful, not lifethreatening painful,
but I barely took dmg as a bear (if I didn't pull 3 packs at once to
speed things up... :-P)

Loot so far, well, sigh... my bear got a caster leather head, pff (I
like that offspec loot is possible but still, had to laugh :-P). Oh
and there's a lovely model caster staff which any one of my three lvl
85 casters would love for transmog even after MoP comes... of course,
my druid got that too :-P Have to keep farming on my alts!

Will try Alliance later, guessing from the book that it may well be
better storywise, the Horde one was a bit random tbh, no explaining
who the spy was or why he's in there, or what's going on really... fun
though.I'm hoping lvl 90 scenarios are also possible for just two of
us; I'd hope rather more challenging, as it got a touch boring tbh,
but it's really fun having something like this which we can do
ourselves, and that is actually current content - usually all we can
duo is raids from 2-3 expansions ago.

OK. Googled them already. They're organised all over the island.

Hey, Frankie (the Singaporean "house nigger") ?? pile-of-dog-shit Lee!
You kept writing in these public Usenet groups that Jesus is a thief

This fits you perfectly, doesn't it? Isaiah 53:3 .

For something that was billed as a 'pre-event', I feel a bit disappointed
with Theramore's Fall. Queued up on Alliance side, cut scene, then a warrior
proceeded to flatten everything in sight. All over within 10 mins..oh..and
yet another tabard. Woop-de-doo...bring back the zombies!! ;o)

And yet when zombies were out, everyone was moaning it was too
intrusive lol :-) I wish it'd been a little more prominent myself,
maybe a call from Garrosh to let us know his plans to invade
Theramore, and would've loved to see a little of Baine and Vol'jin's
feelings against the way Garrosh goes about it (half of what was in
the book doesn't come across in the scenario, not too surprising
really, there's limits to how much could go in the scenario without
impatient people wanting a "skip the lore" button, but can't keep
everyone happy I guess). I'm hoping Alliance side works out more
exciting, will see tomorrow (ran Horde too many times and ran out of
time lol)

Best bit about this is it's a preview of scenarios, which I'm now
really excited about - I'd hoped it might be something me and my bf
could duo, given decent gear/careful selection of our classes, and
based off this, it will be. I'm assuming this is tuned to be easy tbh,
since we're blasting through it one player short, will expect lvl 90
to be more challenge, but, I love the concept, not-quite-an-instance
but not far off it, seems perfect for us :-)

Not having read the book, I was hoping for something a bit more immersive.
This scenario also seems way undertuned for something that requires an iLvl
of 353. I'm sure you and your bf will have no problems if this is a glimpse
into future scenarios.
I like the concept but was maybe expecting something a little bit more
special, based on previous pre-events.

I do agree there, the book was epic, the scenario doesn't reflect that
so well: I think it works as a scenario, but needed a bit more added
to it for a pre-expansion event. Wouldn't have been that hard to put
together a cutscene or two introducing it imo, shame they didn't do
that.

Heh I can't understand what it requires ilvl 353 for tbh! Maybe it
does if you don't have a tank? Dunno but we did fine as tank/dps, I
take a chunk of dmg at times, yeah, but never bad enough to feel like
we wanted a 3rd character, or any crowd control or anything; in fact I
tend to deliberately pull multiple packs to aoe down since I have
plenty defensive cds to manage them. I hope it's tuned up a bit at 90
so it actually feels like a challenge doing these things!

Yeah I get what you're saying there. I'm enjoying it, but would've
loved a bit more depth to it.

Ok just did Alliance side, and *that* was disappointing. From the
book, it'd seemed like Alliance would get to be alongside Jaina in the
moments before the bomb hits (various references to unnamed
"companions" without any gender, race or class mentioned), but the
scenario was nothing like what I expected. Oh well :-(

I only have a test account now, so no experience of this event, but
commentaries on the french judgehype website are not good for now.

This one made me laugh :

"Thanks to Celine and Georges from accounting for their two weeks hard and
volunteer work on our new scenario."

On the other hand, like a The Secret World quest giver told my Templar
character recently : "If I truly want to understand humanity, I need only
to read the comment section on youtube"

Rofl true indeed. It's not as bad as many are making it out to be, in
fact I do really enjoy running through it, it's just disappointing
compared with what I'd hoped it *could* be. The book made the whole
thing so dramatic, the scenario, well... doesn't show most of the
fight and misses all of the background. Horde was roughly what I'd
expected (although I'd have liked to see *more*, perhaps some of the
before the fight stuff, to give some background, in particular, to
show why Garrosh is more and more disliked by his fellow leaders),
Alliance on the other hand... was totally not what I expected.

It was ok, don't get me wrong, but it had the potential to be much
better; although, perhaps that's why they changed it from the part
which the book indicated would be done - it would've been more
dramatic than the Horde one (storylinewise anyway, not so much
fightwise unless they invented a boss or two), and by changing it they
gave both sides relatively similar fights.

I did the scenario last night on my hunter and we had another hunter and 1
warrior. It was just way too easy.
I can compare this scenario to tol barad dailies when you have to go in the
dungeons. Actually when I remember how hard it was when we just got to 85
and did tol barad dailies when all mobs were on that crazy respawn timer and
just kept respawning then I think theramore is a joke.

I miss "group" quests that they removed :( the best quests were the 2-3 man
quests where you had to kill some elite mob that had 10 times more hp than
you and hits hard where you actually had to plan your strategy before
engaging and smart using of all CD to beat them and the sense of
accomplisment you had when beating the encounter after several tries.
Soloing some elite with my rogue and having to blind in mid combat to
bandage, time kidney shot, and gouge and often vansighing when you couldnt
make it or kiting some elite on the hunter half way across the map... ah
those were the days!

The only quests I didnt like from the group quests were quests like "wanted
dun the hungerer" as you really had to have a tank and healer + at least 1
dps to kill the mob.
