Druid tanking post 5.0.4 patch

I have been focusing on other toons for applying talents and glyphs. I
noticed Blizz made my prime spec for my Druid a Guardian, which is fine.
I've done a little farming and dailies as a cat with the Guardian spec
but nothing heavy duty. I will be disappointed if the Cat form as
guardian spec is gimped too much. I would hate to respec just to level
to 90.

The other implication is if too many folks choose dps over guardian spec
then we increase the tank shortage. What were you thinking Blizz?

It's missing a few skills, but mainly ones that you'd only use in
groups IMO, I never use Shred, Rip and the like solo anyway. I haven't
tried soloing in cat as guardian spec but I imagine it's doable
enough, and if it gets hard, just pop bearform. Else use dual spec and
you've got both :-)

Can't see that being much issue, most people were one or the other
anyway (it was common to have two feral specs, one focussed towards
bear and the other towards cat), and those who liked both roles, will
still be both with dual spec.

Don't know what the majority did - I liked my 2nd spec being resto so I
could effectively function in any group or queue and get a quick pop.
The druid is 3rd or 4th behind my main so it is not life or death.

The respec is 19g I think you get that for like 1 quest...

If you level solo yes you can do without those 2 but if you plan to do any
instance you are totally gimping your group, it's like shadowrpiest healing.

People that want to tank will tank anyway and people that dont want to tank
wont tank anyway so I dont see a problem. Who wants a dps geared tank
anyway?

Yep it was impossible to be a good tank and dps with the same spec anyway.
