Nat Page rep

Urbin

I'm just browsing through the achievments and found one the rep collectors
will most likely love:

Professions->Fishing->Learning from the Best: Reach exalted status with Nat
Pagle.

Will he get his own faction? Or is there some other way to gain status with
him? Also, I saw that there seem to be at least 5 or 6 panda cooking
specialisations that can all be skilled up to 600... It seems like a lot of
new details to be seen in Mop. Very much looking forward to it.

Cheers

Yep, there's a whole heap of NPCs which have their own reputation, on
top of the usual factions, should be fun! I think it works much like
factions, doing quests for that NPC or bringing them gifts (something
like random item drops which start a quest, and tell you NPC X might
be interested in it, that kinda thing) gives rep, and there's varying
rewards when you get higher reputation with them, I think. Just
flavour and fun stuff rather than gear and the like, but it's extra
depth.

The different forms of cooking are great as well, adds a lot of depth
to it, I'm really looking forward to it. Word of warning if you enjoy
cooking though: get a LOT of bagspace... it feels like there's about
100 different ingedients out there lol, my bags on beta are so full of
vegetables and meat it's unbelieveable, and I haven't actually done
any fishing yet...!

Oh and if you've not heard yet, alongside cooking and fishing, you get
a farm, tied in with one of the rep factions and a bunch of the NPCs,
I've not done any of it yet (wasn't implemented when I passed through
that zone, and I decided to save the fun till live, since it's
something I'm really looking forward to), but it seems you get to
clear spaces on it, plant seeds (one of the NPCs can give you a
forecast of which crops might grow well that day!), tend them (kill
"weeds" etc :-)) and then harvest next day. Can grow vegetables or
special seeds which give tradeskill materials, sounds really fun to
me, far more depth than just "farming" mobs for drops lol.

Do they count for the rep achievments? Or are they truly just flavour?

Hehe, I might need to clean out the low level cooking ingredients out of my
banking mule's guild bank then :)

Sounds a lot like Farmville gone WoW :-) I'll have a look at it. Can the
stuff you grow this way be used for cooking?

I'm assuming just flavour, if they did count that new 70 exalted
factions would be far too easy, anyway, since there's quite a lot of
NPCs you can get rep with.

Probably a good plan lol. I can tell you my beta character has at
least one 20-slot bag totally filled with food, either cooked or
uncooked... and I've done no fishing on beta :-P

It certainly can, I believe it was originally intended for growing
vegetables (there's a lot of vegetable and the like ingredients in
Pandaria food), the herbs and other tradeskill materials are a
bonus... although it'll seem profitable to grow tradeskill mats IMO!

Not sure I like this from the perspective of being a collectionist. I
have an alt banker dedicated just to mats and raw food and cooked food
takes up well over 2 bags. Will the mats be shared or does each
specialization have its own set?

Seems I was wrong there, they *do* count towards the achievements! Oh
well, that makes 70 exalted not such a big challenge now, I'll still
go for it but I'm expecting to see a lot of people with that title,
instead of hardly any now.
