Well that was better than expected! Servers up early and *most* addons
updated or at least working. Only ones with trouble atm are:

Auctionator (should be updated shortly according to the author)
Aloft (being worked on, phew)
EquipCompare (not a peep out of the author since Cata release, granted
it's an addon that never requires updates usually, hope someone
patches it up)
GFW Levelator (officially abandoned and *no* similar addon has been
updated, grrr! :-( )
Macaroon (abandoned and replaced with another one, with no migration
of settings between the two. Hoping the author adds a way to import
settings soon...)
RatingBuster (pretty badly messed up and silent author... no other
addon seems to have anything like the same level of detail)

So not too bad, but if anyone knows an addon which puts levels onto
quests in the log, quest tracker etc (and *only* does that, I don't
want 500 other bloaty features) which is actually updated, I'd be
grateful to know of it! ;-)

Other experiences:

Only talented and glyphed up my priest and druid, thinking I'll learn
the classes better if I play them relatively soon after sorting them
out rather than doing specs on day 1 and not playing for weeks
afterwards! Ran a few dailies on my priest to see how Disc is now, and
I'm really happy with it, should be pretty fun for levelling. Had a
look at my dps on the elites you kill with the 4 druid helpers on the
Molten Front, and wow, comparable dps to my shaman and warlock
(pre-patch), great! Yes, my dps characters have significantly lower
ilvl (they're both in the mid 360s, priest is 384), but still, to be
on a par with them is great, especially when I'm fully reforged/gemmed
into spirit, which does not benefit my dps lol.

Speaking of dailies, was stunned to see I got 60k guild exp per quest!
No wonder my guild seemed to have gained 10% of a lvl today (my bf was
questing an alt), it appears that every level of character will get
that much guild exp per quest completed (so long as it's appropriate
level, grey quests give nothing), plus the exp caps have been lifted
as well. Brilliant news for small guilds, I predict Orion's family
guild to hit 25 very soon now ;-)

Druid travel form is awesome btw, been having fun playing with that,
amazing animations and detail in it :-) Not so awesome was discovering
bears no longer get dodge from agility... having reforged every item I
owned into mastery so my cat and bear would both benefit, well...
ouch. "Only" lost 22% dodge chance... :-(

Glyph market is predictably crazy today, once I got my addons working
right (and that was fun in itself, AH was too full for get all to work
so it takes *forever* to get an overview of the prices of glyphs), I
found plenty at 200g each, nice money, although so much undercutting
that not many sell. I've already decided I didn't stockpile enough Ink
of the Sea, dammit. Plenty of everything else at least but those are
all the most expensive glyphs!

Auction house appears rather confused... sorting seems random and my
own auctions tab changes what way up it is every time something
changes - starts with sold at the top, one sells, they go to the
bottom. Another sells, back to the top... what? Lol.

Got an annoying crashing thing going on - "access violation" or
somesuch, happens randomly with no obvious trigger (I was afk at the
other side of the room one of the times it crashed), I never once had
this on the beta either, so a bit confused. Looking at tech support
forum I'm not alone, there's no obvious common thread between us
though so who knows what's causing it, hopefully it'll get fixed
anyway.

Mostly going well though, tomorrow I'll get out in the world some
more, maybe have a shot at LFR or something too. Although... my fps is
struggling in places in the Molten Front, so LFR may not be the
greatest idea after all. Oh well, have to test it out at least, find
out how bad it'll get (My xmas present to myself will be a new CPU so
it's only for a short while at least :-P)

Hmm some experimenting shows bears do still get dodge from agi... ok
so I've been nerfed by over 20% dodge for no obvious reason, even
better :-P I knew it'd go through the floor when I levelled up but
wasn't expecting it at 85, wonder what they changed there! Good thing
I don't tank current content ;-)

new one for that appeared some weeks or so ago already, called Moncai
Compare.

I was out last night so I only had time for a quick run through of
addons to see which aren't working.

I decided to just go for it, click the load out of date addons option
and deal with the fallout.

Power Auras was badly broken and came out with thousands of bugs but I
didn't even look for a replacement as I was already part way through
the process of ditching it for Weak Auras (much easier to configure
and not missing anything that I need)

There were about half a dozen addons that weren't working after
updating to latest. Most of them aren't that important to me so I'm
not too bothered.

The most important one that I had to disable was AutoBar.... I really
like this addon but it is often slow to update when it breaks and it
hasn't been updated this year :(

I'm also a bit concerned about Baggins. It hasn't been updated since
December either and has come up with a few errors. I fixed the first
really quickly (comment out the code that refers to the range slot)
but it has another that needs fixing. It should be easy to fix (a
missing Ace module) but I don't know if that will be the end of it.
I've just written a Baggins addon that I was considering releasing but
there's not much point if it is a dead addon.

I had a quick look at my Druid and I was a bit surprised to find that
my specializations were already chosen for me based upon what I'd
chosen in Cata. I'd have expected a totally clean slate to start with
but I suppose it doesn't really matter.

Awesome, thanks! Such a simple addon yet so very effective, glad
someone's made a replacement :-)

Yeah I expected it too but oh well, was sticking to the same specs on
all characters anyway, guess they figured it'd help the transition for
people not to have to replace a million spells on their actionbars.

I was impressed on my druid btw, it correctly guessed which of my two
feral specs was for a bear and which for a cat - considering I only
had about 2 changes between the two specs, that was pretty impressive
;-)

There's some seriously clever players on the forum, problem diagnosed
and not even remotely something I'd have guessed! Seems if a player on
an account formed via Recuit-a-Friend logs in, the account which
referred them crashes! What a bizarre one, given it was at least 2
years ago I referred my bf's 2nd account, I didn't even know we were
still linked lol, but it does add up, I'd noticed at least 2 of my
crashes were at times he logged in but dismissed it as a coincidence,
given he logged in loads of times without me crashing. I'm crashfree
while he's at work though, and I'm assuming all the times he logged in
and I didn't crash were all on his older account (which I didn't RAF)
or when I was on my 2nd account, which isn't the one which RAF'd him!

So if anyone else is getting Error 132 with (0x85100084) reference,
keep an eye on your RAF contacts (there's other error 132's around
which aren't linked with this, but I'm confident this one's my problem
anyway)

Heh - Sometimes, you guys over the pond have an added benefit of getting
the patches a day later... :)

I got home last night and first thing I did before logging in was check
curse and to my delight, found 14 updates waiting for me, including
Vuhdo.

So logged in and played around a bit more with my mage at the dummies.
My real test with her will come tonight as we are going to run
DS....Should be interesting to see how I do compared to last. Going to
make sure to bring some dust with me to change things around and check
it out. Think I'm going to try running a boss as a frost mage too to
check it out.

Logged onto my druid, made sure vuhdo was working correctly and jumped
into dungeon. Not too shabby. uh-oh...can't dispel?! OK, some Rocket
Scientist at Bliz decided to rename it Nature's Cure...Fixed it.
Realized that it has an 8 sec CD...that sucks. After reading up, seems
that they put an 8 sec CD on all classes for dispelling...oy.
Well...going to be interesting.

All in all, no problems....Found out Regrowth ain't what it used to
be... lol I used to use that to run on the tank during heavy damage and
it used to refresh Lifebloom...Just needed to adjust the noggin to
utilize Nourish more, and throw a regrowth in if things start heading
downhill faster.

Boomer - Again, no complaints. Like that they removed the buzzing flies
(swarm)...It never seemed to do enough.

Overall, I'm happy with the changes to the druid. This to me is how
changes to a class should happen. More of a warm and fuzzy feeling vs.
the more annoyed feeling I'm having with the mage right now...

Hehe very true, usually I curse having to wait longer, but it does
make the process smoother :-)

The 8 sec will take getting used to but I am delighted that they've
merged dispel magic and cure disease into one spell for my priest (at
least for friendlies, offensive dispel is another spell now), make it
much easier setting up a ui! :-)

Oh and had my first shot at repfarming my Booty Bay rep back now and I
am SO glad I waited for aoe looting, it's amazing! The range covers
pretty much the entire pirate ship (only misses the guy up on the mast
who's usually stuck inside the mast anyway so I tend to ignore him),
and if you loot on upstairs, all the corpses downstairs are cleared
too :-D

I think that it doesn't require the Shift key to be pressed. :)

Offensive dispel has been as good as a different spell to me for
years. The friendly "version" was only ever cast using Gird + Clique
and the offensive "version" was only ever cast from the action bar. :)
