Busy WoW weekend for me

My Wife's been very busy with work this weekend so I was left to my
own devices...

On Friday night I finished the last half level to get my Rogue to
level 85. I then completed the two quest chains that give the easy
epics and then looked for something else to do.

I had a lot of gear building up to disenchant so I decided to level my
Mage's enchanting a bit. I got about 10 points up before I remembered
that I'd switched my enchanter to my Shaman before my long break. I
checked Altoholic and saw that he was about 100 points higher than my
Mage and was high enough to DE Cataclysm gear so I sent it all to him.

I logged him on to do the DEing and suddenly got the urge to play him.
He was level 76 and so I set out to finish his quests in Sholazar
Basin.

Blimey! They've really increased the rate at which you get XP in
Northrend. I started quite late on Friday but I still managed to get
to complete level 76 and was about 70% of the way through level 77.

On Saturday I got to level 79 at about the same time that I finished
Sholazar Basin. That's about two and a half levels in about three
quarters of a zone. Ok, he has +30% xp bonus from heirlooms but,
still, that's fast levelling.

On Sunday I started on Icecrown and dinged 80 with a little over two
hours played. I dropped all my quests and headed over to Hyjal.

I'm just playing through the zones until I can get a good enough item
level to start doing instances. I was thinking that this was taking
longer than I expected but I just checked out my armoury page and
realised why - those two heirloom pieces and my insignia of the horde
are really bringing my item level down. My healing set will be quite
a lot higher item level because they aren't included in it.

After I get to the correct item level, I intend to level up by healing
in instances for a change. Hopefully, that will allow me to learn the
instances a bit better so that I can tank them with more confidence on
my Paladin. :P

Wow nice! Yeah, it does seem really fast nowadays, I haven't quested
in Northrend since the change but I'm fairly sure it was in when my bf
was levelling his rogue and my dk tagged along for a few instance
boosts - went from 77 to 80 in no time!

Hehe good luck :-) I'm still nervous about healing anything much, what
I have done was mostly fairly tricky, although perhaps I just hit bad
groups!

May as well add my weekly update onto this thread: well... lots of
event stuff, to the point where that's about all I did. Darkmoon, Love
Is In The Air, and some dailies on some alts too, and that took up so
much time I did almost nothing else.

One other thing I have been doing is levelling my ironman character -
lvl 19 troll rogue, currently, and still my first attempt - I've not
played him that much, hence the slowness, but at least no deaths. I'm
thinking I was lucky rolling a rogue, at higher lvls hunter will win
out with pets and feign death, but at present rogues are great,
stealth and sap avoid most potential problems. 5 lvls till vanish :-)

that is the best way to teach yourself to never want to heal
