Goblin starter zone harder than it used to be.

I have a level 9 warlock stuck at Volcanoth. I breezed past that part
with several other Goblin toons, but now the turtle breathes fire very
often and I can't dodge the breath, take a shot, and dodge again in time
to avoid dying to him. It seems impossible.

Is this a bug? I never had that kind of trouble getting past him before.

I played through there with a Shaman and a Rogue, for the
content. I seem to remember dying to him a few times with each
one. There are two comments on Wowhead that sounds fruitful:

Daveray:
Simple if you know what you're doing. You'll die if you don't
but that's part of learning. (Yes, I 'learned.')

Part way up, there is a rock to your right that you can hide
behind when he starts to cast his fire breath. The "e" and "q"
buttons are useful here. Dart out and blast him then get behind
the rocks. Repeat until he's dead.

When he's dead, DO NOT LEAVE. Behind the corpse is the next
stage of the quest. Go behind him to the plane, complete and
accept, and continue.

And another idea:

Coonga:
The best way to kill this guy is just stand underneath him and
rapid fire him. He goes down quick. When he turns to shoot fire
at you just run to the middle of his belly and continue firing,
rinse, repeat. Works like a charm, no damage!

Best of luck!

Thanks very much, I finally got out of there.

I learned that the rock on the left side is a better shield to duck
behind than the rock on the right. When I moved forward and to the left
I had better success, and it helped that he finally started paying
attention to my pet.

My pet kept dying and was useless, with my first attempt. When I went
back today, moving forward gave my pet more time to tank before dying LOL

I love the Goblin starter zones and got stuck on this too. At least this
presents a challenge rather than most quest targets these days.

I would have loved to have seen more difficulty (hard mode) in return for
more XP perhaps ?

I like that idea, but it is hard for me to imagine how to implement it.
