Having a break from World of Warcraft

Planning to have a long break from World of Warcraft, lifetime break
actually.

The game has been occupying my time for a long time. And has taken a
great portion of my attention and thinking. The past few months I was
on a path to self rediscovery, was interested and curious about how
far I can redefine my reality. But in order to do so I had to go deep
into myself and just scout around my subconcious mind. When I went
really deep I discovered that World of Warcraft occupied a huge
portion of my inner thoughts, it was also chaotic, maybe I don't have
enough training and discipline to have proper control of my inner
thoughts but I know that in order to ease my inner journey I would
need to clear up my mind.

So the logical step was to stop feeding my mind with whatever is
causing inner chaos. So I deleted World of Warcraft from all my
computers, deleted the backup copies and decided to never play the
game again.

I do realize that I might sound weird or odd to some but I am a very
complicated individual :)
And I don't imply whatsoever that the game might be doing any harm to
you, many have enough mental discipline to not to be consumed by it.

It was fun, had good times, met great people and was loving every
moment of it. But it seems that I allowed it to consume me a bit, so I
had to cut the losses.

I wasn't a big contributor to this group but I have gained a lot of
information here about the game and enjoyed many interesting stories.

So thank you all for the good time, and I hope for you the best.

Well it's probably time to move on to other things to fill up your
time and your mind with.

Hope you met some nice people in your travels.

I thought like you a few times with wow occupying a large amount of my time
but then again I'm a person that just needs to be addicted to something or I
feel bored and empty so it can as well be wow. Before I was playing wow it
was morrowind, before that it was warcraft 3, before diablo... there is
always something that makes me addicted... And when I wasnt addicted to
something like wow etc then I was bored... before I started with computer
games I spent days in my garage repairing my old motorcycles... there is
always something and always to the extreme... 1 day I got out of my garage
at 5 AM :p
If you really enjoy wow I dont see a reason to stop. Ofc if you have
something that will give you the same amount or more pleasure I say go for
it but deleting wow just to be bored isn't an option for me.

'Zactly - :)

I simply think of WoW as my hobby....That's all. If your not doing
something your supposed to do because your "doing WoW" (like go to
work, mow your lawn, family, oh...you know...like life?) THEN it's a
problem. I have a couple hobbies...this is just one of them :)

WoW took up too much of my time a couple years ago, but now I rarely go
on before midnight, and play for an hour or so when I want my mind to
just shut down and get ready for sleep.

WoW has become so automatic that I can't really say it is all that much
fun anymore, but I don't really want to give up a brain-dead hour or so
at this point...

In fact, I bought a couple other games last month (Civ 5 and the latest
Star Wars), but never got past the tutorial in either of them. I
realized I really don't want to go through the learning curve and
addiction phase again at this point.

So, though I have said I was ready to leave WoW a few times in the last
couple years, it just keeps hanging on there in the background. No
mental time really -- not even much while playing it... :)
