Master of Garubashi Arena

I've started my hunt for the Grand Master trinket at 6:00AM EST
this morning, with my level 22 Hunter.

I arrived at 5:57, and the place was apparently deserted. I
chatted with Mithril the Goblin, and then hid behind a pillar so
I could see if anybody else was going to show up for the battle.

At roughly 6:01, having still seen nobody, the following text
appeared on my chat box.

Ripsnarl appears tipsy from [Hallani Beverage].

I let out a /s LOL. So this silly story at least contains a tip:
If you're stealthing around and don't want to be detected, don't
drink.

Finally Mithril set out to place the chest, and as soon as it was
placed I dashed into the ring on my mount and started opening the
chest. I got interrupted by a drunken Druid named Ripsnarl, and
webbed him with my spider. There also appeared a Goblin Rogue
running for the chest, who didn't even seem to be carrying a
weapon.

The Druid was quickly dispatched, and the Goblin took just a few
hits and Vanished.

I began opening the chest again, assuming the Rogue would
interrupt me with an Ambush, but she never did.

So, the quest started off with a lucky success. I didn't remark
their levels, though the Rogue must have been at least 24, but
neither appears to have been even a casual PVP player. I assume
they were achievement hunters, but in that case why try for the
trinket at such a low level? Maybe they were just curious.

I'm usually up at 5:00 AM, so I should be able to get in an early
try almost every day.

Funny, I'm on this achievement too, with my... 85 feral druid.

I'm very bad at pvp. In a duel, I'll be killed almost everytime. I have
some saison 10 items, and a trinket from Argaloth/Occuthar to give me some
resilience, but that's not a lot.

I have had a trinket of the arena in the bank since a long time, at the end
of halloween, I started to collect them.

Until now I saw the same DK three or four times. That guy is unkillable.
Once I had a holy paladin from my guild to help me, and we were unable to
kill him.

Yesterday, I had two funny fights. We were three, each time, fighting and
fighting... Sometime someone would die. But no one prevailed, and after 15
minutes, the chest disappeared. And the second fight was almost the same,
but after 13 minutes, I decided to let the other two (that means, let the
DK kill the rogue and get the chest) finish it. At least it was not a lost
chest for everybody.

I'm at 11, so it will be over soon :)

I'm going to have to learn to PVP on my 85 Druid as well. I'll be
Feral DPS, as I have the crafted PVP set, and I also heard that
Moonkin are very squishy.

A Blood DK is one of the hardest kills. You probably have little
chance even with some help. It's always worth a try if you showed
up, though.

Yeah, I saw on Wowhead that the chest despawns after 9 to 12
minutes.

I got my second this morning when nobody else showed up. The
uncertainty and anticipation are kind of fun.

And 12 !

The planned raid was not going well last night. We were only 7 when I
logged in, so I summoned my holy paladin friend to help me in the arena.

The arena was not going well, either, as I saw a lot of people, but
luckily, only two level 85 (druid and rogue). There was a level 20, a 62, a
75, and maybe another person. But even a low level can interrupt me in the
opening, so I was not confident.

At first, the rogue and the druid were against us, but after one or two
death for me and my healer, the rogue turned against the druid, and I was
able to loot the chest.

Too bad we were still 7 people and the raid leader logged off, so we went
to Zul'Aman instead.

Congrats!

I had read about the special trinket reward months ago when I had
it used against me by a Goblin Rogue and wondered what the hell
just happened. But I just thought it would be too much trouble to
get.

It is wise not to underestimate the twinks, though it does seem a
level 20 *ought* to be zero threat, in an Arena situation they
can make themselves a factor.

Today, I slept in. *Yawn*!
