Weekend fun

usenet

Monday update :D

What did I do over the weekend?
I started an undead warrior (Misstick on EU-Draenor) to that I can see
the undead areas after Cata, and that should give me the quartet of
characters I was after (hunter, priest, shaman and warrior) to get
ranged dps, healing, melee dps and tank.
She is up to L11 now I think, which took just over 2 hours.

Before that though, I got about 5000 honor on saturday and sunday, so
that I could buy her the honor heirloom shoulders and two-handed sword.
Add that to the guild helm and cloak heirlooms and she is pretty bad-ass
already :D

Sold a couple more mail agi pvp helms and a few other things I levelled
up on when getting LW to 525, so I now have about 9000g now, which is
the most I have every had, and have about 4k worth of items currently up
on the AH, which should sell in the next few weeks I hope!

Turned in my first lot of 150 hyjal commendations, to open up more
dailies. I expect I won't get through the rest before 4.3 drops, as my
background downloader kicked in over the weekend, so it can't be too far
away.

In other news, getting in to TB is incredibly frustrating, there must be
a better way than the current crapshoot.

But ... leveling warrior as a tank ... fun fun fun ;) You should try it. I
dinged 80 yesterday with my warrior. Oh yeah.

Believe me It's not that much, I got 12k g in glyphs on AH ;P

I hate these daylies now ^^ Stopped with second character after unlocking
second vendor. I just can't turn into dailie zombie :)

I have other problem with TB ... Alliance atm is so crap on my server
(Blade's Edge-EU) that I actually can't remember when I lost one in last 3
months :/

Five... thousand... honor? Holy crap, I'm doing the wrong thing
if what I want is honor heirlooms. ;)

I purchased the heirloom +Agi dagger with Champions Seals and
enchanted it +15 Agi. I sent that to my level 21 hunter along
with a level 3 dagger with +15 Agi on it (a so-called
Hand-Me-Down). I ran him through Stormwind Stockades once and got
a cool eye-patch and come good boots.

He's really strong in Battlegrounds now. It's still like playing
the slot machines, but I take the defeats with good humor. I look
forward to the contested battles more than the facerolls, but a
battle we win 3-0 can still feel challenging and fun, depending
on the opponents. He's at 2400 honor, and within striking
distance of the PVP trinket, my first target purchase. It's not
useful for its stats or even for its on-use (my Hunter is human),
but for its excellent resilience boost.

I had an interesting time when I came up against a Frost Mage who
kept me in melee with snares and slows. He defeated me (with a
bit of help) a couple of times before I got used to the tactic. I
used my spider pet and Engineering trinket to snare him back. The
snares are tremendous fun on any Rogue who thinks I'm an easy
target. Rogues do defeat me regularly, but usually in the heat of
battle. The presence of warriors and paladins in large battles
can render me useless with their stuns. Luckily such classes are
so poor one-on-one that not many play them in randoms.

Even with my prodigious burst damage I cannot kill a prepared and
skilled healer without help or lucky crits.

I'm still sitting on a complete set of crafted leather PVP gear.
I gotta don it if I really want to rake in the honor, it seems.
Oh well. It can take me weeks to psych myself up for things. ;)

I've been on hiatus from those dailies while I farm Champion
Seals. I'll have to get back to them, though.

I'll find out, I expect.

Nice one! I need to do some pvp and stock up on honor before 4.3
comes, will get round to it sometime I guess!

Good luck there, I'll have to try selloing some agi stuff, my mail int
shoulders refuse to sell :-(

Probably a few weeks away yet, the Darkmoon Faire stuff only just came
up on the test realm so I imagine there's a bit more testing to go
yet. Looking forward to it when it does come though, a few decent
changes.

>In other news, getting in to TB is incredibly frustrating, there must be
>a better way than the current crapshoot.

Yeah, the better way is by being a member of the faction which has
fewer people queueing :-P On Draenor there's far more pvp'ing people
on Horde than Alliance, when we did Wintergrasp it was usually about
5-10 Alliance vs 50-100 Horde. Tol Barad evened it up numberswise so
at least Alliance don't get utterly thumped every time, which
encouraged a few more to queue up, but there's still a lot more of us
than them queueing each game, so many of us are left stuck outside
hoping to get in before the end. Factionchange or server change is the
only way to improve that :-/ Although it would be nice to have an
indicator of where in the queue you are at least, so you know if it's
worth hanging around or if you may as well go do something else!

My weekly update: last week was a lot about instances of various types
- I already posted my 5-man experiences :-) Ran Molten Core on my
priest and druid together, priest's T1 robe *finally* dropped, meaning
I could complete my first transmogrification set :-D Druid's shoulders
did not drop, somewhat annoying when I've got all the other 7 pieces
of the set, and it's only the shoulders I want for transmog :-P Ran
again with my warlock and warrior, got nothing either wanted, but the
druid shoulders dropped. *sigh*. On the plus side, my druid is getting
ever closer to completing Sulfuras - I could just buy the missing bits
off the AH, but since I need to run another 8 times to get my priest
to exalted, I may as well see if they drop first: need 2 Blood of the
Mountain and one Sulfuron Ingot, should drop soon enough I hope :-)

Also paid a quick visit to Tempest Keep and killed Void Reaver, got T5
shoulders for my bf's priest and for my own warlock (my priest got the
shoulers last time we tried the place), unfortunately I'm very
unlikely to complete the set with only two of us in the group, can't
kill enough bosses. Was hoping for a pair of shoulders from the trash
which go with an outfit I'm making up but no luck this time; I'll
return though. Also ran the warlock through some BC 5-mans a few times
to collect other bits of the outfit; my robe and belt have now dropped
so if I can just get the shoulders I'll be all sorted - best match of
gloves is the current warlock T12, which should be available from
justice points in 4.3 :-)

Other than that I've been working on dailies a bit, taking my shaman
through Tol Barad (and fishing a lot!) and my druid through Molten
Front, and cursing when I accidentally opened up the wrong set of
dailies (was trying to get the druids of the talon set open so my
priest can finally get the achievement involving the flamewaker
sentinel and a group member... but got the wrong set opened, doh!), oh
well, at least the marks rack up faster now so soon I'll get the right
set :-P Also been doing Archaeology, and not getting anything
interesting drop, naturally - working on yet another Canopic Jar,
which I'm sure won't contain my recipe, but guess I'll see!

This week's plans: more transmog gear, more dailies, and hopefully
some 5-mans, will see how it goes!

My problem with tanking, is that I don't like doing it :D I'm levelling
as Arms, mainly for Pvp at L85 when I get there...

Oh, I know it's not a lot for most people, but it's a lot for me! I
only dinged my first 85 a couple of months back...

I think that is the case pretty much everywhere, Alliance are crap at TB
for some reason.

About a dozen battleground and a couple of TB, so I guess around 5-6
hours of PvP over the weekend to get that. I usually get around 600-800
honor for TB, depending on when I get in, if at all. and around 100-400
for a BG win, depending on the BG. Around 60-120 for a loss.

This is with a L85 hunter, with 147k stam and 2.5k resilience.

To be honest, i'm pretty crap at PvP, I lose more 1v1s than I win, but I
just enjoy PvP more than PvE :D

The agi mail helmet seems a good seller. Costs about 250g in materials,
plus 10 minutes spider farming for savage leather and sells for around
1100g. I've sold 3 in the past week.

True, the problem is that it can be a 15 minute wait, for nothing.
Can't go do something else as if it pops i'll be left miles away from
where I was, can't go into another BG while I wait. All I can do is sit
and organise my bags again... ;)

I'm pretty sure I stink, too, but I do have excellent
preparation. I'm always keen to bring a gun to a knife-fight. I
do find PVP more fun than running dungeons, but I haven't thrown
myself into Heroics yet. I might like it.

Sounds good! I'll hit up something else though lol, no point competing
with each other on the exact same item :-) Will see what other agi
pieces are likely to be useful, they've got to beat int, that's for
sure...!

Yeah, that's the really annoying thing, thinking I could be on an alt
or something but having to sit around and wait. Hope whatever world
pvp thing they come up with for MoP will have some solution to that.

I came back to WoW in late Spring after getting hardware with enough
oomph. I now have 7 85s with another at 81. I try to run each of the 85s
through TB until each one wins once for the bonus you get with the
victory quest. Seems like was Horde was winning regularly (80+ %) up
until a couple months ago when Allies seemed to learn to play and now it
is more whoever is attacking wins with the Horde occasionally holding on
for a win while defending.

Horde vs Allies in the regular battlegrounds is another story and will
be the subject of another post later.

These statistics are biased since the Warlock was my first PVP
toon, but having leveled both to 22:

Dwarf Warlock: 52 Warsong Gulch, 24 wins.
Human Hunter: 54 Warsong Gulch, 34 wins.

I went from playing an underdog to an overpowered combo, and the
win% reflects that.
