Warlock Pet Progression

Neil Cerutti

10/12/2011 1:00:00 PM

I'm still working on my Dwarf Warlock, leveling him up in random
battlegrounds. And I'm getting frustrated because I can't figure
out when the various pet special abilities get unlocked.

Seduction and Consume Shadows are the two I could really use, and
I can't find a list online that tells me when I get them.

Anybody know?

Lots of fun and close matches last night, starting off with a big
string of losses. I switched to Destruction from Affliction for
the time being, hoping for just a little bit more burst. It has
worked, but Conflagration sure feels weak. The power of Heirlooms
is a bit less dramatic in this bracket, and that's good for me.
For now. But that's another post.

What bracket are you in at the moment?

Is http://www.wowhead.com/spells=-3.... any help? Should show
all abilities and their lvl (I assume the level listed is the level
the pet learns it, anyway)

Level 23 right now. Rogues are kings of the hill as far as the
complainers are concerned, though luckily most Rogue players seem
more interested in getting quick kills than in winning. OK, it's
bad for my Warlock, but good for my teams.

It's listed as level 20, but that can't be right, unfortunately.
That entry may be out of date, perhaps. I think 56 sounds right
for Consume Shadows, though. Shame that.

Battlegrounds are kind of addicting. Once I get going I can do it
for hours, because every battle is so different. We kept and held
Blacksmith for the first time ever last night. For some reason
the Horde usually squats there like Johnny Bench.

You just have to learn to roll with the frustrations. I try to
make a really stupid joke at the beginning of a BG to try to set
the tone of mild silliness that I prefer.

IME A Horde AB goes like this.
Race to the farm and first one there clicks the flag, 2 others click the
flag after him.
2/3rds of the group go to BS and fight there without capping the flag.
They win, then decide to cap the flag, all the while the Alliance have
capped both Mine and LM.
Everyone leaves Farm undefended and 2/3rds of the group pushes on to
Stables and fights there, remembering to not cap the flag, whatever they
do.
Lose Farm to Alliance, a few people head back to defend.
Recapture farm.
Lose BS
Recapture BS and a few stay to defend.
Bitch about the people fighting at Stables.
Capture Mine
Then it's a matter of ping-ponging over the Mine, with a couple of
Stable captures, more bitching over people being at stables, losing
stables again.
Finally we win, more by luck than judgement, everyone says "good job"
and logs off.

I try and do the same, but some of the best conversations in BGs always
happen at the Farm, with a couple of people who realise the importance
of defending flags. Some of the "say" local chat commentary can be
hilarious when we know nobody else can hear. :D

Lol I haven't played AB in ages but seems nothing's changed, that's
*exactly* how I remember the place :-D
