United Nations Recap/Redux

Orion Ryder

10/6/2011 1:13:00 PM

I remember the United Nation threads from the summer time and called
them up but any replies I put in will not post to agw and only go to
the author's email address.

Catriona, how are you doing with your grind on this now? You got
knocked back to 50/55 and had some ideas

Our little family guild is at 51/55.

For some reason we are not showing Frenzyheart although in the past we
had 10 toons that were exalted but then went to the other side and get
the drake.

I should take one toon and bring that toon into Scholazar and get
exalted with the Wolvars seeing as how that one would be pretty quick
to run the dailies at level 85.

At first I was thinking of sendingthe kids into exalt themselves with
the Silverwing and Arathor (Wife has exalted with Stormpike) but they
are neutral and the grin would be too crazy and long. So the hell with
that.

Looks like Thorium will be a choice.

And the Hydraxions also.

Not sure if Nozdormu would be worth it as I am having trouble
swallowing the idea of farming things in Silithus and I can't seem to
figure out how that stupid thing works where you sort of commission
other toons to farm the things. Besides we are still in the hostile
range so that would be a long journey I would imagine.

So maybe we can farm Scale of The Sands or the Ashtonue Deathsworn.

So time to cover this achieve again now and again at some point in the
future.

53/55 right now, slowed down a bit since all my remaining options are
big grinds, but it's potentially doable within a few weeks if I can
get my bf to help me out on some.

Yeah it doesn't take too long, I did that on my druid, since priest
was Oracle exalted, took a couple of weeks I think, but not too bad.

The grind on those is massive if you're not a dedicated pvp'er, I'm
not really considering them! I'm 3/4 through honoured with AB and just
into honoured with WSG, and considering I pvp'ed quite a lot in TBC
days (when there were only 4 BGs available, so not that much choice)
and only got that far... getting exalted would take ages I think. Not
really my idea of fun, I'll consider it when I've done everybody else
lol.

>Looks like Thorium will be a choice.

That's apparently very easy now, run Searing Gorge quests and then do
a few handins, the fiery cores and lava cores are cheap since there's
tons of people running MC for transmogrification gear. Leaves me
cursing since I did it the slow way!

>And the Hydraxions also.

MC is very soloable now, takes me just over an hour on my druid,
slightly longer on my warlock since she can't decurse and sometimes
just has to wait out a 5 min curse. The downside is, once you hit
revered, you get 1050 rep per run only (only the bosses give rep
then), obviously a little more with guild perks but you're looking at
19-20 weeks after revered. I've got 12 weeks to go right now... on the
plus side I still need my T1 robe for transmogrification so maybe
it'll actually drop during that time!

Easier to skip the farming stuff in Silithus tbh and farm the initial
trash in AQ40. I got to friendly pretty fast, kill the 11 mobs before
the first boss, run out, reset, and every mob gives 100 rep.
Unfortunately that doesn't last very long, once you're into honoured
your only rep is boss kills and occasional drops off trash that can be
turned in for rep. It's a tricky instance, too, my bf and I together
can duo it up to Twins but haven't got Twins down yet (a shame since
they and C'thun give higher rep than other bosses), think on the rep
we can achieve per run so far I need another 8 runs to finish it...
problem is my bf hates rep farming and I can't solo past the first
boss, so, well. That one's on hold :-P

>So maybe we can farm Scale of The Sands or the Ashtonue Deathsworn.

Scale of the Sands is pretty easy - 8k+ per run, and duoable as long
as you have a healer in the group. Beware death and decay on the first
boss, and Archimonde is just plain annoying tbh, but mostly it's tank
and spank (and run round like a headless chicken rounding up the trash
waves. Oh, make sure you have something that can do ranged dmg as
well, the flying trash is annoying as hell :-P Tank+healer that has a
dpsish offspec (Atonement priest is enough, just that can hit stuff,
not just tickle it ;-)) should be fine. Three more runs would get me
exalted there but again, need to convince the bf to help me. It's one
of the best option I have right now for number 54 though.

>So time to cover this achieve again now and again at some point in the
>future.

Hehe good luck! You'll probably get it before me tbh, my options are:

Defilers/Warsong Outriders - nah, I really don't fancy that much pvp
farming :-P
Bloodsail Buccaneers - I can barely solo one bruiser, and need to kill
800. And I'd rather not trash my goblins rep in the process. Maybe one
day but it's longterm...
Avengers of Hyjal - don't much fancy joinging raid pugs so forget that
one lol
Ashen Verdict - sispect trash farming will need more than 2 of us,
haven't tried
Ashtongue Deathsworn - may well be possible, but probably slow,
haven't looked yet
Brood of Nozdormu - 8-9 runs as far as we can duo AQ40
Earthen Ring - a bunch of pug 5-mans, I really should get around to
this one!
Hydraxian Waterlords - 12 MC clears
Scale of the Sands - 3 runs of Mount Hyjal

So it'll be 2 outs of the last 4-5 factions I think, just not sure
which 2. I will do Hydraxians for sure, and hopefully can get my bf to
aid me with Scale of the Sands, while I do intend to try the Cataclysm
5-mans sometime so would get Earthen Ring then. Just not sure how long
all these will take me :-)

With Alterac, I was 54, but out of boredom decided to switch faction in
scholazar, since I finally got my drake. So, 53 again, and revered with
the Frenziheart.

I'm doing the quests everyday. Port to the Crusade with the tabard, fly
to scholazaar, pickup flowers to make darkmoon cards (I know there will
surely be new ways to get rep with the new darkmoon faire in 4.3 but...
), do the quests. Then, I port to the Black Temple with my Karabor
necklace, check if the big robot is there, go to Auchindoun and try to
get the mount from Anzu, fly to Shattrath to teleport to Quel'Danas and
go kill Kael'thas. I was lucky last weeek and get the Sin'dorei orbe and
the phoenix minipet on the same run. Now I need the white chocobo from
Kael.

The guild is at 55, but as a personal achievement, I'll continue my
grind. And even beeing level 25, the guild has nobody at exalted with
Frenzyheart (nor Aldor).

Doing the quests is very quick at 85. You don't need to take buffs to
kill gorlocs near Kartak, you can just aoe them to death with normal
spells / abilities. Catching chickens is longer ;)

Still neutral with these two, and not considering it at all. Too much
pvp. Alterac was enough (and fun sometimes... and horrible sometimes...)

Yep. Did it the old way with my paladin (happy owner of Sulfuras), and
the quick way with the druid, who is my reputation grinder. The quick way
is good.

The 20 weeks of farm don't give me the necessary motivation.

Wow, that sounds a busy schedule! I go for the mount runs
occasionally, but quite rarely now - I make a point of going to
Karazhan and killing Attumen on my way to Molten Core now, since it's
a short hop away from the Blasted Lands portal. I don't get around to
the heroics as often as I should though!

Good luck there! I'm on 51 personally (on my main), Frenzyheart and
Aldor I contributed with my druid alt.

Hehe yeah it's just boring killing 50 gorlocs rather than hard :-) I
had an unfair advantage on chickens - you can use the net in
travelform :-) Still took a while though!

hehe yeah, AV was ok but then I did it back in TBC days, not sure what
the grind is like nowadays. AB and WSG will take forever, think I'll
pass.

I may run it the quick way on some crafter alts now for the recipes.
Annoyingly my main is a jewelcrafter so no recipes for him!

Hehe not surprised, it's been hard to motivate myself for it at times.
Transmogrification helped, since I think priest T1 is their best
looking set anyway. Plus I'm trying to get some blood of the mountain
and sulfuron ingots to drop for my druid's Sulfuras :-)

AV is nowhere near as hellish as it used to be, games are over in under
30 minutes usually, and fall into one of three camps.

1. Run to kill middle boss, run on to cap main towers at main boss, kill
boss, win
2. Run to kill middle boss, find the otherside waiting, wipe, panic,
hunker down in base, win on reinforcements
3. Bitch on bg chat about how nobody is doing anything right, start
arguements, type more than shoot, lose.

All of them are over quickly, with option 2 taking a bit longer. :D

Stealthed, it's rather quick, I can avoid everything but the bosses.

I try to get pack of chicken (they are rather packed at the start) but
it's doesn't work every time.

Looting the 50 gorlocs is the worst, I don't anymore.
