Another Brewfest gone...

Catriona R

10/5/2011 10:59:00 AM

....and another year where my mount collecting priest did not get the
kodo. Sigh. Yeah there's still today but I've done my keg run for the
day so that's it really, better luck next year I guess!

Got my goals for my other characters achieved though: all 4 85s got
the trinkets they needed early on. The three 85s who did not have the
Brewmaster meta achievement completed it, and my warlock also managed
to get the 3 pieces of Brewfest gear for the drunk dancing in Dalaran
achievement, plus the pink elekk pet. Didn't bother farming dailies so
much on the other two but all are signed up to Brew of the Month so as
long as I remember to get the beers each month that'll be another
achievement for them all in a year! Mountswise, my warlock and shaman
both got the rams (druid and priest already had them) and my druid got
the kodo, which was the one I really wanted, since I'll use that as a
main mount on him, kodos being the only mount which I think a tauren
looks good riding, and regular kodos being very boring, it's a nice
upgrades in looks for him! All my characters got multiple remotes,
although surprisingly I never got a single tankard across all 4 of
them, pity since I'd have liked to bank one in case my troll rogue
makes it to 85.. that said he probably won't do that before next
year's Brewfest anyway :-P

Hallow's End next, and time for much cursing over A Mask For All
Occasions. I've already decided that last year's one missing mask will
be sure to drop early on, but I'll never see one or more of the
worgen/goblin masks added this year :-P Looking forward to the holiday
as a whole though, farming candy buckets on alts will be very easy
guild rep/experience, my guild got over half a lvl during midsummer
and it'll probably work much the same with this one too! Also some
nice rings for alts, I assume, the Horseman usually drops rings
anyway, if I remember rightly.

I ran it nearly every day with my main, and would've got nothing
but Justice Points if not for the hot-fix that awarded me a bunch
of useless Brewfest Tokens.

I did get the Brewmaster Title, though it was ridiculously easy
do so. Hardly seemed worth it.

Looking forward to it, though as a Druid I just don't need mounts
at all.

I feel your pain on all of the above including the soon to be arriving
Mask for All Occassons. My wife's main did not get the missing mount.

I think the drop rates for them were the SUKX! Something about the
probability distribution is screwy considering that one of my toons
got 3 remotes and another got 2 to add to their already owned remote.

With random number rolls that bad they should make the goodies Binds
to Account.

I think my wife also needs the Horesan's Mount. Gonna be some fun and
hard work there when that arrives since I have a few runs where I run
two toons on side by side laptops. The Horseman is harder to do that
with than the Brewfest Boss because of those transistion phases with
the head off his shoulders.

Hey good luck man!

heh...I usually have the worst luck on drops. Last year I ran it on all
toons every day and never got anything, but this years brewfest turned
out diffferent for me:

Mage: Got the trinket (not using it) and just got the Kodo two nights ago
DK: just the trinket
Rogue: Got the 365 dagger, trinket and Kodo
Resto druid: Just the egg trinket
Warlock: trinket, Kodo AND the Ram

Got the dagger 4 times on toons that couldn't use it, and about 5
Tankards of Terror that I sold on the AH. First one went for about
800g, now they are selling for about 180-200g.

Hope my luck holds out for Halloween! :)

I sympathize. I have four level 85s, and only saw one mount, which I
was happy with - the Kodo on my Warrior (there is something comical
about a tiny female Blood Elf dual-wielding huge two-handed weapons
sitting atop a huge Kodo).

I even ran this daily with my Paladin who has both mounts (one of
which was obtained four or so years ago when you could get them with
tokens), thinking that RNG would laugh at me and give me a mount on a
character who already had that mount, but no. No mount for my Priest.
No remotes. One mace.

I'm really not sure how to react when I hear people complaining that
they got three mounts on the same toon. "DIAF" seems appropriate.

I disagree with RNG awards, probably because I know my luck is so
terrible. I made a bet at the start of the fire festival that my
Paladin, my mount and pet collector, would not get the Frigid
Frostling pet for the second year in a row - a bet which I won.

Yeah I got spammed with remotes as well but I already had the remote
from last year so meh. My alts did rather better, was happy with the
kodo on my druid, but otherwise, meh.

That's another mount my druid has and never uses since a) he has
flightform and b) he looks stupid on a horse :-P It's also another
mount my collector priest does not have :-P

That being said, given the amount of daily quest zones where you can't
fly, ground mounts are nice to have even for a druid, so the kodo was
great for mine! Couldn't care less about flying mounts on him though,
which is rather annoying when he has better drop luck than my
priest...

Mammal psychology seems to be oriented towards RNG, strangely
enough.

I remember your posts last year about mask drop probabilities! Should
be some fun again I guess, I think this year I'll make a point of
setting an alarm for every hour so I can maybe squeeze in some extra
innkeeper visits. Still probably won't complete it though, wonder
which mask will be the one I curse this year :-P

I agree so much! Especially when I had a duplicate ram drop for one of
my characters, that could've gone to an alt, sigh. Stick a lvl limit
on it or something if you don't want twinked out lowbie alts riding
mounts only available to 84-85 chars, fine, but it'd be very nice to
be able to share mounts and pets around my alts so my chronically
unlucky characters can get some of the stuff that drops first kill for
my alts that weren't even looking for it :-P

Hehe good luck! I'll just run through one at a time I think, only 4
characters is fairly fast queueing, luckily, and I can't see myself
suddenly levelling any others high enough in time (who knows though,
maybe my dk or pally will lvl a bit!). Wonder how many fights I'll get
where nobody switches target lol - I seriously hated tanking that
fight or doing it as melee dps since by the time I found the head and
got to it, it was down and I'd have to run back to the horseman.

Lol sounds cool indeed :-) Does the kodo scale down a bit when you
ride it, compared with a tauren? My troll shaman has it from last year
and it looks absolutely tiny on her!

Rofl yeah I know that feeling well! I had remote, dagger and ram in
one bag on my warlock one day, and a duplicate ram on one of them
(forget which, all 4 of my 85s have it now) so I guess my luck is
better than yours but still, argh!

I nearly won that bet as well - it dropped on the 2nd to last day, I
think ;-) I wouldn't mind RNG half so much if it was BoA, since I'll
usually pick up the things I want on *a* character... just it's very
rarely the one I wanted! Expecting to also not get the Headless
Horseman's mount on my collector (both my druid and shaman got that
last year!), we'll see lol.

I did the run a couple of times on my Hunter, and got a remote and the
tankard. What does the remote do for me exactly? :D

It summons a burrowing mole machine (essentially a reskinned mage portal)
that transports you and your party to the bar area inside Blackrock Depths.
