[Off topic] Starcraft 2 starter edition product key?

Has anyone tried the free Starcraft 2 starter edition? I thought I'd give
it a whirl, but the installer is asking for a product key and I don't know
what to enter.

Maybe you can get one on your battle.net account ?

I bought Starcraft last year, so I'm not sure what is this starter edition,
but to play, you'll need to log with a battle.net account, just like WoW.

The Starter Edition is a limited version of SC2 that's free to play.
It has only the first five missions, or something like that.

I do have a battle.net account; the problem comes when I try to link
my SC2 installation to my b.net account. It asks for a product key, and
as far as I know I don't have one.

It's possible that a product key was displayed on one of the installation
screens and I just overlooked it...

After the install completely finished and applied all the patches, it let
me play without entering a product key. Apparently you don't really need
one.

On a related note, the full game version is $60 which seems kind of
expensive. I might buy it if it goes on sale but not at full price.
