Meh - maybe, but the ones I listed posted regularly through last summer.
A lot of those students you mention don't even know what Usenet
is...lol. Many use the web based forums now. Me? I much rather use
this. I don't need log-ins everytime, graphics, advertisements,
constant scrolling up and down to find posts, refresh the site, etc.
Give me the clear-cut data I'm looking for, in an e-mail type view, that
checks for new messages every 5-minutes and brings them into
Thunderbird, organizes it any way I want, and gives me the info in
clear, quick fashion that allows me to reply in the same any day over
that.
But your right that most of my other groups are posting low as well,
except my groups that have older posters - Those get a couple hundred a
day...You'd figure my guitar groups would be all young, snot nosed punk
kids, but a lot of them must talk about the '60's and 70's music and
bands, and the conversations drift to Geritol, aches and pains of
playing with arthritis, etc...lmao Point is, the older folks are the
ones really using Usenet, so eventually I feel it will go to pasture
unfortunately...
