Mystery In Tirisfal Glades
Nemesis Prime
8/1/2011 12:33:00 AM
When Cata was launched, I had suggested that some higher level quests may get added in lower level zones, but in areas that you could only access via flying mounts. I alter did some exploring and found an area in Tirisfal Glades, Northwest of the forsaken stating zone. The fist time i went there, there were trees, but no wildlife. On a podcast I heard mention that some changes went down in one of the recent patches so last night I went back and found level 80-82 wildlife roaming around.

However there was a small island with the remains of a dead fisherman, impaled with a sword:

I also took a dive in the water and found a crashed Gnome airplane, wonder what that was doing out there? I also wonder if Blizzard will create a future quest involving this or will they forget about it as they sometimes do.

I read about that area recently (at least I think it's the same area),
there's also a ring of mushrooms someplace there which occasionally
has a bunch of faerie dragons come in and cast a spell or something,
all pretty mysterious! Probably just some interesting flavour stuff,
but I love when Bliz put cool little details like that in, regardless.
I've been meaning to go over and investigate since I heard about it,
will try and remember to do that later!

I heard about The Unknown Soldier on a podcast at some point,
too. I hope to visit him someday. Maybe find out what he drops. ;)

I did see the ring of mushrooms and went in the middle but nothing
happened. As you said, maybe it's random for those faerie dragons to
appear. However I don't see a purpose to having level 80-82 creatures
there unless they plan on having something for upper level players to
do in that area.
