Taking a break from WOW

Urbin

7/24/2011 12:21:00 PM

Dear friends

I've been playing WoW for over six years (I just checked, my free month
started on May 27 2005). I've enjoyed every single minute of it both in game
and out of game like in a.g.w.

Every once in a while the time spent in WoW has been an issue debated in our
family, and I've tried to arrange my play time with my family in a way
acceptable to all of us.

However, I am feeling that at the moment my family needs more of my time
than I have been giving them during the last few months and as my
completionist nature will make it hard for me to play only very little I
have decided to go cold turkey.

I have cancelled my subscription (which continues running till September but
I'll not be playing much other than cleaning up mailboxes and taking my
leave from my guildies).

I'll probably be lurking in here for a few days but I'm not likely to be
posting much for the foreseable future.

I wanted to take this time to thank you all for a great place to discuss the
game we loved so much, sometimes heatedly, but usually civilly and who
knows, I might be back and if I am, I hope to see some of you still here.

Thanks for a great time, my your swords never dull.

Cheers
Urbin

Sorry to see you go :-( Can well understand your family comes first
however, and it's good that that's the case! Hope to see you again
soon :-)

Thanks for your input to the discussions too. You're a great guy and
your family are lucky to have you.

Have fun - I'll be sorry to see you go.

Always been a pleasure reading your posts Urbin. Enjoy the break, I'm
finding I miss WoW sometimes but less so than I thought I would.

Cheers

I'll second all these comments. You had some great stories too.

Thank you.

And I'll third this. Hopefully you *will* be back, eventually the
young'uns grow and aren't *quite* as time-needy. Enjoy it while it
lasts and you can, there are opportunities there that will never come
again.

And yeah, some of us will still be here, even if you are gone long
enough for Purgatory to freeze over, I mean D3 to come out ;-)

Been a pleasure to have been here with you and in the game on separate
realms and you are heading out on a road that many of us will walk on
someday.

In my case I could leave WoW someday and tear out all of my digital
music gear and set it up in this condo that we moved to and which I
have yet to pull the gear out and set up. However in my case chances
are my wife and two yunguns will still be in the game.

I am debating when to leave these days. Maybe when our 4 man family
guild hits level 25. Who knows?'

I am sure you will be applying the same enthusiasm and exhileration to
your family activities and given how great it was to have you here
they for sure will be the recipients of some of that greatness at
their end.

Three cheers for you!

OH! OH! OH!

I check this newsgroup from work, and boy was this a crappy way to
start my work day. :-)

I don't have kids, but between working and commuting, I've often
wondered how people further with children manage to find any time for
this game.

I will miss your posts.

It's been great reading your posts in this newsgroup. You will be missed.

Also, thank you for the addons you have written for WoW.
