I ~can~ haz ur stuff!? Really!?

This actually happened to me this weekend.

Out of the blue some random stranger whispered me and said that they
were quitting WOW, and wanted to give their stuff to somebody.

I'm all "OK great, thanks" and waited for the punchline.

He said that he liked what I said about my guild in the recruit blurb,
and wanted to benefit some little guild that he thought was deserving.

I said "Good to know, thanks."

He said, "OK I just mailed you a butt-load of mats and some cash. Have
fun and good luck"

"Thanks a lot and good luck" I replied... never believing for a second
that he was for real.

An hour later, my mailbox was completely full with 12 stacks of
enchanting mats and uncut gems in each mail. After I claimed all of
that, my mailbox filled up again, with more of the same, and a 25K gold
cherry on top.

GEE, Mister Namwithheld, formally of Farstriders!! THANKS! Holy cow!
I will never doubt you again!

Wow! Nice one, so good to hear a story like that! With all the stories
of people being pretty nasty to each other, it's so refreshing to hear
a total random act of kindness like that one :-)

We had a guildy do this last year. He refused to Play CAT. He gave the
guild close to 100k plus about 12 reloads of emails full of mats( bigger
hoarder than me ;-) and since we are a family orientated guild. He gave
each of the kids 25k.

I had some one randomly give gold away gave me 5k. I held on to it found
out the guy account was accessed by his now Ex. I gave him a surprise of
the 5k back. The GMs refused to restore his account since she had access to
the account.

I can't even picture how one player can accumulate that much money and
stuff. I am one of those people that is chronically broke, LOL.

What's always worked for me is to find a crafted item with a cooldown. For
my herbalist/alchemist its been different things at different times. Right
now, its 15 Volatile Life -> Volatile Air (+procs). On my server, VA goes
for 20-30g a pop. The other herbs I pick with it (mostly Whiptail) also go
for a pretty penny. I pick up several hundred gold a day, like clockwork.
This takes 10-15 minutes work.

My main currently has over 72k.

I have hit the million mark already plus 3 toons with 6 guild tabs that are
full. Made a fortune sell glyphs when the patch changed them. I love
playing the AH seeing some noob selling something for 1% of its total
value. I keep my guild bank full of mats specially food buffs on my servers
the bots rule the food mats but they wont cook the food up strange. I love
messing with they will post it for 30g I come in at 25 than they come in
at 20 and so on and so on. Love buying it all up cooking it up and
reselling it

I used to be like that... then I discovered inscription and
jewelcrafting - those two characters both have well over 100k each;
the scribe isn't even max level yet and still filthy rich :-) And this
year alchemy's proving fairly profitable as well; I was shocked to
realise my druid is on 20k gold now; he's always been low on money
before. Granted quests and dailies also give decent gold but still, a
fair bit has been from Volatile Life>Air transmutes or selling
flasks/potion of treasure finding.

Going dual gathering on lowbies is a recipe for riches also, got 800g
on my lvl 40 dwarf shaman, my 58 hunter is about 1800g. If I manage to
get a dual gatherer up to 85 I'd expect them to have several thousand+
around.

Lol now that's more of a problem ;-) Guess I'm lucky there; I don't
make many impulse buys, too used to having to be careful with money in
RL so my habits carry over into WOW: "is that really worth the price
it's at?" kinda thing :-)

Wow, that is a cool story. Congratulations and don't spend it all at once
:-)
