Just curious how people with more than 700ms latencies are getting on with
this?

I've found the torch catching a problem and thats with a low latency.
Sometimes the torch explodes when i'm close to it, yet at other times
its ok when i seem to be a distance from it. That's judged on my
distance to the shadow spot as following the shadow is how I usually
do that task.

I usually have around 200 latency, and I can't do this quest.

I've been doing it the past several Midsummer events (i.e., I know
what I'm doing), and this year, doing everything the same, I can't do
it. Either the torch explodes too soon or I can't get the the next
torch fast enough.

There are several complaints on the Forums, so hopefully it gets fixed
soon.

Yes that's my experience. Even in druid travel form there are times
when i just cannot keep up with the torch.

I recall there was something about mounting during the first toss.

With high ping (500+) most of these sorts of events are pretty useless.
Most seem to be designed for something like 1/2-3/4 second reactions 250ms + 250ms
take a 500+ ping and you are pushing, add +100ms variability it is like trying to do them
on one of those amusement park lurching bridges. You can see the target movement stutter.
Doesn't make so much difference for one that you can retry but it makes running a
sequence difficult.
They can be done. but it comes down to getting a lucky roll.

Do keep in mind that the ancient Chinese invented ballistic Rocket
warfare and signal rockets. There is really nothing new under the sun.
The Nazi Scientist paid a visit to Doctor Goddard in White Sands New
Mexico to study rocketry in the 1930's. From that point they designed
and built the V1 flying buzz bomb, the VII and the VIII ballistic
missiles. Our first orbiter was a Red stone Missile...Which in all truth
was a modified VIII design. You do realize that Apollo and the bird that
took it to the moon was designed by Ex patriot German scientists and
Americans. No Jews were allowed. The largest Rocket in the world in
Russia was also designed by ex Patriot Germans and Russians. Might be
some Jewish influence there. Doubtful though.
You did note that Pakistan just fired off a test missile successfully.
Apparently it is capable of being a nuclear delivery system. I don't
doubt that within a decade that a nuke will be fired in anger in that
area. Look to the damned Jews to start that one also.
