Grid frame alpha

Does anyone whos better with Grid tweaking than me, know if it's
possible to adjust how much the frame alpha goes grey when someone's
out of range? I've noticed a change recently (since I updated it with
4.1, I think), in that it doesn't fade out anything like as much as it
used to, which is rather annoying, since I now can't tell who's in
range and who isn't in the middle of a heated Tol Barad fight (yes,
it's visible, but it's subtle, and I prefer it obvious!).

Was wondering if I was imagining it, but looking at old screenshots,
yes, it used to go a distinct greyish shade of the class colour, now
it's just a little darker and nothing like so clear and useful. But I
can't for the life of me find any options to change it. So am I just
missing something obvious? Adjusting the colours on the range check
status bit does nothing; I'm assuming the colours there are for if you
use a corner indicator to show range, while I prefer to just use the
frame alpha. A bit stuck now!

I haven't noticed any change lately, but honestly, I haven't been paying all
that much attention to it.

Anyway, here is how I suppose you could solve this:

/grid
Go to the "Status" tab
Scroll down to "Out or Range"
Click on the "Colour" square
In the colour picker frame there is a scrollbar all the way to the right,
this is the alpha slider. Moving it doesn't show in the colour picker frame
but in the background you will see the colour square that you clicked on in
the original grid config frame adjust its alpha value.

I haven't tried how this works in a group but at least on the config window
this seems to work. However, since you stated that you *did* try the colour
config and it didn't work it may be that the alpha setting is only relevant
to the corner indicators, as well.

Have you tried adjusting the priority setting of the stats you want shown on
the Alpha frame? That may help. Again, I haven't tried it, just guessing.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

That's my suspicion, I'll give it another go later but couldn't get
any noticeable difference out of it before.

Hmm, I haven't, but then I haven't changed it to begin with lol, it's
the same as it's always been. Will try it but I'm a bit baffled atm!

Thank you! Didn't seem to do anything when I tried it before, but I
just found myself having a heartattack in Tol Barad when half the raid
wasn't visible at all! At that point I realised that yes, the colour
picker alpha thing *does* do something lol, since I'd set it right
down to minimum, eventually hit on a level that's about right for me
(thank goodness for a quiet minute on defence, since pvp battles are
not the time to tweak UI settings... but it's downright impossible to
heal TB if you can't see who's in range of you :-P) Thanks for making
me check it again!

I'm glad it helped.
