dburne

May 6, 10:30 am and I can't log in to WOW. I'm getting a message that
says there is a problem with the log-in server. Is anyone else seeing
that?
TIA

If this is the US servers, there was something weird going on last night
as well. I started the game and it did an update and had to agree to a
new user license, which is unusual for a Thursday night. After the
update and all night long, almost every time I switched between toons, I
got DC'd. It was happening to about half of my guild that was on as well.

So they may indeed have issues that they are trying to fix...

Thanks guys, I see there is now a message up on the log in screen.
Guess this might take a while to fix....

Me too. I'd log out and get DC'd. Or take a boat or Zepp somewhere and
I'd get DC'd about the time the loading screen would go away.
I assumed it was one of my addons causing this.

I had the same issue when travelling somewhere via Zep.

If I read the Forums yesterday correctly, apparently for some people,
after they downloaded the patch, the EULA was appearing completely
blank on the login page. There was just a blank page and the Accept or
Decline buttons. So some people I guess had to agree to a EULA that
could have said anything.

As for the rest, a great number of us (big two-part thread in the Tech
Support Forums) are experiencing major in-combat latency since last
week's patch. You can run around a city fine, fish fine, run around
the inside of a raid fine . . . but the minute you start combat in
that raid, your latency goes through the roof. I was getting one frame
every 20 or so seconds while trying to heal. The second combat ends,
everything is fine again.

Even Blizzard is puzzled and can't seem to fix it. It seemed to be
fine this past Tuesday, then Wednesday and yesterday, it was back
again. So maybe they are still trying to fix this issue.

I hope so, anyway. In order to get my in-combat latency tolerable, I
can't raid with my usual addons, including DBMs, and I have to have my
video settings set to Low, which makes it really hard to see what I am
standing in. But since I am one of my guild's few healers, if I don't
heal, we don't raid. Not to mention, the only addon I can run ATM is
VuhDo. I used Healbot, which has not yet been updated for 4.1, and
could be causing some of the lag. I've never used VuhDo before, and
trying to take a crash course in a new healing addon right before a
raid is tricky. It doesn't use icons, like the pink-red leaf icon for
Rejuv, but rather coloured boxes, each box representing a HoT, but
since I have no idea what coloured box represents what HoT, what PoM,
etc., I have no idea the duration or time left on anything. This new
setup, low video settings, no DBMs. Please fix, Blizz!

You can designate what color is what hot in the options. You can also
designate where in the main box of the players where you would like it
displayed. For example, Wild growth for me is blue, and it is center
bottom. Rejuv is pink and top left, etc, etc. Any hots will begin a
countdown inside those little colored boxes. So I cast Wild growth, a
little blue box appears in the center bottom for me with a number that
counts down till it finishes. I put three stacks of lifebloom on the
tank, and a little green box appears for me on the right side of the
tanks box. Any spell like lifeboom that can be stacked, it divides that
little box into 3 parts, each one will light up for each stack that is
applied. A full colored box is a full 3 stacks. Lifebloom starts
ticking away, and I watch when it gets to 3 seconds that I have to cast
Nourish if I want to refresh it or not. I personally love Vuhdoo over
healbot, but it's all a personal preference. For example, I know I can
dispell through Vuhdoo also, but as my main is a mage and I use
decursive, I'm much more comfortable having the decursive bar up under
my heal bars...It's all a matter of personal preference.

I feel ya though, as if I was forced to use Heatbot because a patch
screwed up Vuhdoo, I wouldn't be happy either. I'm just trying to help
you a bit with Vuhdoo...

Yup, I appreciate that. I have been playing around with it a lot,
trying to get to learn it, it's just that trying to take a "crash
course" in it like 10 minutes before a raid weren't exactly the most
ideal circumstances. :-)

I have reconfigured the boxes to be the more conventional spell icon
types (so Rejuv is dark pink, etc.). I'm not having any trouble really
on my Paladin (the only thing he has is a red dot for Beacon) and my
Druid (although, when I cast Rejuv on someone, in addition to the pink
Rejuv box there is a red box in the upper left of the player box that
I have no idea what it means), but it's tricky on my Priest. There's a
box for Renew and PoM and Bubble. But then there also seems to be a
box for my Mastery HoT and the HoT from my PoH glyph. Really, there
was so many boxes i was just confused. WHAT AM I EVEN CASTING
ANYMORE?!?

:P

P.S. Oh, yeah. Another thing. Even though I have all the debuff types
for my particular healing classes checked (i.e., poisons, diseases and
magic on my Paladin), I've noticed that many don't appear. For
example, yesterday, when doing my TB dailies, I got poisoned by
spiders. I could see it under my char icon, but not on VuhDo. Also, I
had to kill that Dwarf guy in Farson Hold. Again, I had Earth Shock on
me, could see it under my char icon, but it wasn't appearing on VuhDo.
That's magic. I can dispel that.

ummm - yea, I could see that as a problem...lol

ah - That may be something I'm not familiar with as I have only one
healer (resto druid) so I don't know about how it is with other healers
or how it handles multiple healers like that. I basically have it set
for one toon, and it's disabled on all others. The red dot in the upper
left side is rejuv. That's what I actually use as I learned resto druid
healing and vudoo at the same time, so I took a lot of the default
settings as I learned spells. It could be that if you assigned a
different icon, it could be showing both at the same time. When you
cast Rejuv, does the one you assigned and the red one behave identical?
If so, check your settings and see if it's doubled up.

Again, I have the debuffs turned off in Vudoo as I'm comfortable with
decursive. I really should get it set up in Vudoo though. A guildie of
mine healing with a Shammy uses Vudoo and has it set up better than
me...He swears by it as well after switching from healbot. Like I seai,
to each thier own, however niehter of us has mulitple healers to have to
set it up, so I don't know much about it. I'll have to look into it
this weekend....
