Jewelcrafting Dailies Can Be Das Pitz!!

I have seen 4 JC dailies.

1 is somewhat of a chore. Killing elementals and bringing back some
essence of sorts.

1 is a push over, similar to where you go around and spray people with
the valentine cologne.

2 are crazy. You have to have 3 uncommon gems of one color and cut
them into something that one might socket. You have to perform the 3
cuts and you have to return them to the quest giver. I say 2, but
perhaps there are more that I have not yet seen.

If I ever see those uncommon gems for sale cheap I am going to buy
them out because they go for a high price on the AH.

So now I have to choose wisely each rare recipe that I need to buy. I
have been buying ones that my priest and my wife's rogue will need.
But it sure is costly at this point.

I guess that down the road this means that the cataclysmic prismatic
cut is going to fetch a top price on the AH given the cost of what it
is going to take to get the uncut versions.

Fortunately for me there are three family miners that can dig up some
ore and three family alchemists that can transmute gems - and
Truegold, let's not forget Truegold.

Three cheers for the crappy JC dailies

OH! OH! OH!

Whenever this is the daily I take the portal to Hyjal, where there is a
large group of the stone elemental mobs nearby. You can easily do the
quest in about 5 minutes there.

There are three JC quests like this. One for Nightstones (purple), one
for Jasper (green) and one for Zephyrite (blue).

As John mentions, there are three of these, and they're a great money
making opportunity, as the price on the raw gems needed tends to
double or triple on the days they're needed. Stockpile prospected
gems, or buy them on off days on the AH, then list on the AH in groups
of 3 for profit.

I do it in Deepholm, in combination with the "kill 10 Gyreworms" daily
- hey, may as well double my gold! ;-)

Nobody's doing that on my server as far as I can see. I've never
noticed them being offered in 3s when I've looked.

The jasper quest had a quite a long run of being the daily much more
than the other options. That pushed the price of jaspers up to 50g each
and it had only dropped down to about 35g last time I looked.

The other two don't cost much at all - less than 10g for one of them and
I think that the other cost about 10 or 12g last time I bought it.

I have a small stock of Nightstones and Zephyrite but I'm waiting for
Jaspers to drop before I stock up on them.

On US-Llane it's nightstones that had the longer run and has been
tending to hold value the most. I generally buy up what's under 20g
per gem. I think I've managed to sell about 24 Jaspers for about
twice what I paid for them. So it's only about 500g profit, not
really all that much considering the period of time it's over, though
not bad since I haven't done all that much either.

Good idea. I didn't know gyreworms were elementals! And I can work towards
my Pebble pet at the same time!
