/guildinfo for our guild

steve.kaye

When you do /guildinfo it gives you some guild info that doesn't seem to
be available anywhere else in the UI. It tells you when the guild was
started, how many characters in the guild and how many accounts in the
guild.

Our guild's info says that there are 403 players but only 39 accounts.
That's more than a little odd - firstly, I find it very hard to believe
that there are so few accounts - even accounting for a lag in the
updating of the account numbers. I only have 3 characters in the guild
and I wouldn't have thought that many would have more than 3 or 4 in the
guild.

More importantly, it can't possibly be correct as you can only have 10
characters per account in the guild (because you can only have 10
characters per realm per account) which would mean that 39 accounts can
only have 390 characters.

I've never tried that command before, and logged in to my banker to try
it. It has an error for me as well. Two of my RL friends and I have a
banker guild. We have 3 accounts and 6 players. /guildinfo reports 2
accounts and 6 players.
The guild has had no changes in well over a year so some sort of update
lag shouldn't be a factor for me.

It is indeed bugged, my guild says 23 players, 3 accounts. 23
characters is correct but there are 4 accounts in the guild, and have
been ever since it was formed the best part of 2 years ago (we had our
4 different accounts on the charter!)

Which, if correct, would require more than 10 characters on some accounts.

I checked my horde bankers guild, just like my alliance bankers guild
but we have 2 accounts and 4 players,
however /guildinfo reports 1 account and 4 players.
Hum... Is there a pattern here? Account +1 = actual accounts?

Yep, this has always been true. However, I think that information IS
available in the guild pane under the guild info pop-up side panel
thingy as well.

ALL Characters are counted, but only active accounts are counted. You
might have 50 200 characters that are tied to accounts that are not
current.

So, unless people pay renewal fees, at most 39 can log in to your
guild.

No, because my guild said 39 accounts but 403 players. Even if I had
all ten of my characters in the guild (which I don't) that would only
allow for 400 characters if the number of accounts reported was only 1
too low.

iT's probably not counting your own account.
