Stonecrusher the Mountain quest bugged?

C J Campbell

1/7/2011 6:17:00 PM

Okay, I tried doing this quest five times. Each time I got to the point
where I blow on the Wildhammer horn. Immediately the boss despawns and
one minute later he reappears with full health, starting the battle
over again.

It takes about five minutes to kill this guy, too -- I guess, not
having actually killed him.

When are you blowing the horn? From your description it sounds like you're
blowing it towards the end of the battle.

* If reinforcements are not called after 60 seconds,
Skullcrusher the Mountain will now despawn. When reinforcements are
called, Skullcrusher no longer improperly despawns.

Ah. I guess now I can go back and finally do it.

Apparently the hotfix has been...less than effective on many servers.
you may have to wait a while longer, Ray :-)

Well, it's academic as I have the needed number of quests for the zone.
Just would like to do it to . . . well, to do it.

What's got me grabbing the Mallox is Blade's Edge. I have 85 of 86
quests and the one left is that damn color light game in Ogerilla. I
can't DO the damn thing. <g> The things we do so we can have
"Loremaster" attached to our toon's name.

Have you tried writing the sequences down? I also think that there used
to be an addon to help with it.

Can't do it because of a technical glitch, or because you can't
remember that many colors in a row?

As I recall, it was easier to do when I stood near the center crystal and
pointed the camera straight down so that the outer crystals were in clear
line-of-sight.

It would be impossible to write it down and play it back in the time
allotted. I have downloaded the addon and will eventually get adroit
enough to get it right, I suspect. It's just that it BUGS me when I hit
"twitch" stuff like I'm supposed to be some 13 year old on a sugar high
at the arcade. I have the same hatred for the deck swabbing quest in
Stranglethorn.

I can't do it because I'm an arthritic old geezer who can't remember
past the fifth or sixth color. I'll get it eventually, but damn it, why
do there have to be EXACTLY 86 quests. OK, the last isn't quite true,
there are 87, but one of them is an alternate start to a chain and if
you pick up the chain at the second quest (which I did) you can't get
the first one. I do find it odd, because most zones have anywhere from
a half-dozen to dozen more quests than required for the loremaster.

Best, R.E.F.

Why not try the trick I had for doing it...

Assign a number to each colour, typically from the top, 1234
clockwise.

Run it until 3 or 4 colours, then start doing a say which says the
sequence in those numbers.

ie: /s 1244

Each time it repeats, do a /, alt uparrow to navigate back to your
previous say and append the current number onto the end.

So in the end you'll have a visible say which says the sequence to put
in. Ie: /s 12234331

No need for memory.
