Announce: GuildRosterShow

Urbin

1/6/2011 12:02:00 PM

Some of you might recall my asking if there was an addon that created
keybindings that allow to open the guild frame straight to the guild roster
instead of the main page.

I didn't get an answer and couldn't find an addon that did it, either.

So I wrote one myself. If you're interested, you can get it from curse:

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/guildroste...

Cheers
Urbin

I'm not at home to check, but if this does what I think it does, thank
you so much for this!

I am in charge of guild promotions. They are based on time and such,
and under the Officer Note of each member is a format I use: XX/YY/ZZ;
invited by XX, where the first set of letters is obviously the date.

Unfortunately, some of the people who invite are not great at
labelling toons, and I got majorly behind over the holidays, resulting
in a multitude of characters who had no date. Hit J, locate character
Y, click last tab, click View Log, scroll to see who invited Y and
when, click first tab, oops, that's not the Roster tab, click Roster
tab, find Y, click Officer Note, insert info . . . times 50
characters. Oy.

This would be so much easier with keybindings.

great addon! simple and functional

personal advice: not all people opens the addon folder to scavenge into
files to know how to addon works, so maybe a little help would be useful
;)

anyway, for all readers of this message: just opne the "keybinding"
interface and scroll until you reach guildrostershow and so you can bind
the right key to show up the various guild panels... that's all :D

Well, on the page at curse it *does* say that it adds keybindings. I assume
that people know how to assign keybindings if they look for a keybinding
addon :-)

But I'll add something to the page at curse.

Cheers

Tried it, love it. It's handy for one of my toons who is a guild leader.
Thank you again.

I need to take some time to learn to do addons.

Which parts are those?
