I'm leveling a hunter so I can experience the new quest lines. I did
the new lines in Redridge with the commando team, which was nice and
worked my way down to Northern Stranglethorn. Loved the little raptor
minds eye quest line, ending with you being in the body of a little
raptor try to escape ZG, chewing through nets, lighting fires and
tripping guards with little skulls..It's a fun quest line, but give
yourself some time to complete the last part...

Anyway, I did the pirate quest line in cape stranglethorn, finishing up
with a phased quest where the pirates attack booty bay. Those ships
that are always anchored off the coast come into the bay and attack.
The whole place was burning with NPC's running around either fighting or
scared crapless. Anyway, one of the last parts to this quest as an
alliance is to borrow a horde windrider and drop hand grenades killing
pirates from the air and sinking their boarding rowboats. Upon
completion of this you return to Booty bay on the windrider. As I'm
coming in, I see a couple pirates attacking the Horde flight master and
assistant. The nice guy that I am, I help them out and start shooting at
the pirates. After the last pirate goes down.....whoops - an extra shot
from my gun goes to the nearest available target...the flight master,
who seems a bit miffed with me, and two shots me and my wolf. lol
Now I go back to get my body, and I'm flagged PvP, so I can't even res
around where I want to be or I'll be dead. Had to wait the 5 minutes
before rezzing for to get unflagged...

The moral of the story.... Nice guys finish dead - never help out the
Horde (or opposite faction) :)

It seems like this will be as much fun as doing Badlands, then.

Ha I ran into Org inn on my new troll druid say Gamon there, the
attack-able NPC. And thought "oh cool" and promptly attacked him. Next
second I was dead!

"Er what happened", I thought. So I moused over him to find his now
lvl 85 with 1.4m HP. Grr Blizzard buffed him!!

Haha it's been hilarious seeing all the corpses around him, so many
people attack without looking :-P Since all the old class quests got
removed, he's no longer required for the lvl 10 rogue quest, so no
longer needs to be only lvl 12... I guess Blizz decided to let him get
his revenge on all the people who've ganked him so much ;-)

To be honest, it's been a nice breather period right now for me anyway.
No Horde (or alliance for you Horde players) taking over the city, or
even really attempting to come in. Oh, once in a while a notice about
the gates of SW are being attacked will pop up once or twice. Most
likely, it's a Horde rogue trying to sneak in to get a look around, and
the level 85 guards detect them and take them out quick, because the
message is only there for a second... Same can be said for Goldshire,
in that I saw a group of 5 Horde hanging around and apparently there is
now a platoon of Alliance foot soldiers marching along the road that
they didn't see...lol....Boy they ran fast out of there!

It's nice not finding city employees dead when you need them :)

Yeah, that is pretty funny.
I saw a couple right in front of me get one shot by him and I thought
WHAT?!? And then didn't give it much thought. Then a while later there
must have been 20 level 80's and a dozen others of various levels
chasing him down the road. THAT was when I noticed he had a boat load of
health. I thought it was strange that he seemed to be trying to get
away, then turning to fight now and then. Eventually they ran out of
sight so I don't know if they got him.

I had my lvl 46 rogue there and tried to pick pocket him...
Not attack, just pick pocket.
Lets just say I won't try that again. :-D

We killed him the day the patch went live. He hits HARD(we were seeing 40k
hits on well geared tanks) but there was a resto druid and a prot warrior,
the druid was able to keep the warrior up for most of the fight and after
the warrior did eventually die, we managed to finish him off by kiting him
around until he was dead.

I remember pre WotLK when Achievments had been introduced with 3.0 I spent
quite some time hunting down some of them. I headed to Orgrimmar for the
fishing, confident about sneaking in the back entrance as I had done for
previous Achievments only to be gobwhacked on the bridge. Run back, peek
around for the raid of 70s who must have been hiding somewhere, but no, it
was just me and a couple of guards. It took me three deaths to realise the
guards had been upped from 65 to 75 elite.

I did finally get to the pools, out of sight of guards, and I did manage to
catch the fish I needed without being ganked too often, but it sure was a
nasty surprise.

This time round, I was expecting it ;-)

I've seen people asking to form raid groups to take on Gamon. I
haven't yet seen whether or not he still goes after new Death Knights
since if he still does go after them, he can kill them easily at his
new level. Have they done with him like they did with the dungeon
bosses that I've seen, at least in the lower level instances where
their HP has been increased but not the damage they give out?

Never mind my previous question, so he does hit harder than those
bosses that got boosted.
