Where do you buy your V:TES boxes?

Where do you buy your V:TES boxes?

What attracts you to that particular seller?

V:TES SPECIAL SALE: The End of an Era
Most of you have probably already heard the sad news: On December 31st
2010, White Wolf has ceased production of V:TES. While death ? and
even the death of a game line ? is a tricky concept when it comes to
the undead and while us V:TES supporters have survived the occasional
phase of torpor, it is probably best to face facts: There will be no
new V:TES material for the foreseeable future.

And yet, there is absolutely no reason to hang our heads in
frustration and shame. We should rather hope for the best - that V:TES
will find a new cozy haven someplace else, and up till then, we better
keep on playing ? and close the gaps in our collections before the
good old WW cards vanish into Golconda.

Therefore, there will be a special V:TES sale this year:

While stock lasts, we are going to offer
- all booster displays for the price of 60 euros
- and all starter displays for the price of 45 euros!

And remember: The more we all buy now, the better the chance that some
publisher or other will decide that it is probably a very good idea to
support the most enthusiastic of all TCG fan communities with some
awesome new material!

I found them based on price. Since then I have returned because of
good experience with prior orders.

I tend to buy through my FLGS.
Partly cause he's a good guy and as a player at his venue, I want to
make sure his venue stays open.
Partly cause, he can get greater efficiency on shipping. Being in
Australia, I need to buy something like 5 or 6 boxes of cards from
Europe or US to make the shipping be sensible. I looked at Potomac
and they asked for more in Shipping than the box of boosters to ship
to the US. My FLGS makes a big bulk order of VTES, board games, dice
and 'stuff' and pays comparatively less on the shipping for my special
order of VTES boosters than I could ever access on my own without
organising something like 10 boxes of boosters amongst our relatively
small local playgroup (now a regular base of about 5-8 including the
'wanderers').

My history of VTES purchasing consists of:

2 boxes of boosters and 1 box of LotN starters from Potomac when I
started

A few things split with others through Potomac
1 box Twilight Rebellion
2x 1/2 box KoT boosters
1 box KoT starters
1/2 box HttB starters

A few people and I did a VTES sealed starter game after I purchased a
VTES starter box off some random person on Ebay.

Other than that it's been mostly drafting, trading, singles and the
occasional handful of boosters from one of our FLGS.

Finally, I bought 1 box TR, 1 box KMR, and 1 box 3rd edition starters
for our Fee Stake qualifier recently.

occasionally Military Simulations if they're having a sale.

cheap if you buy enough. also, someone else in the playgroup organises it so
it makes it easier for me ;)
they're also happy to split the consignment into two orders if the total is
over $1000 so that we can avoid Australian customs/import taxes/duties.

Having said that, I'm unlikely to buy any more until the game gets revived
(yes, I said 'until', not 'unless', I'm an optimist!), unless I see some
crazy-cheap boxes somewhere (like, Jyhad era boxes cheap).

The only set with cards I want more of is 3rd. But it has a lot of reprints
(bad since I just want the non-reprint stuff), and all those printing issues
(also bad), so I've been holding off.

Usually The Lasombra, after that Potomac or All Star. Y'know, support
your own first, and all that (besides, Jeff has good service).

> What attracts you to that particular seller?

Well, besides my VTES community bias, it quickly comes down to (in
order): Price, S&H, & Customer Service. I find Shipping & Handling
from Australia or Europe tends to erase any savings on price -- but
this is because USA has some pretty large wholesalers in the market.
If I was in another country I guess S&H would always be high enough to
be a push.

Used to love The Lasombras singles, but I understand why he stopped.
It made my life easier buying a few boxes and throwing in some
singles, but I'm not a big enough customer to bring that back. The
labor and maintenance costs obviously didn't make it worth the effort.
I'd love if anyone came back and did sales of commons and uncommons/
crypt sets. But I doubt that'll happen again.

All Star Trading Cards
The Lasombra

These were the main ones. I also bought from many other different sellers,
if a good opportunity presented itself.

> What attracts you to that particular seller?

- Price (including shipping costs)
- Flexibility, willingness to work with different options, especially
regarding shipping, in order to make the purchase viable.

Obviously, a good experience is important in order to return, but I really
can't recall having a bad experience with any seller.
