Folks, those who were at the EC know I want to clear inventory of as
fast as possible

In parallel to my sabbatinfrance sale system that is a fixed price
system,

I have opened auctions for you to bid on. For once, it won’t be on
ebay [because they break my balls and they charge too much fees for
all the auctions I want to sell] but on its main competitor ebid. The
advantages of ebid are the following:
- For me, less fees to pay
- For you, starting price below 1$ are possible

You will have to open an ebid account but it is free and very simple.
You can then pay using paypal. I will list hundreds of thousands V:tes
cards in the following months so if you want to come on board, you
might as well start now.
When you register, use this link:

it will give me the information that you have registered after seeing
my message so I can have a view on how many people are interested in,
send you direct messages, add more auctions and so on…

je trouve. Pour une fois, je ne ferai pas ça sur ebay [parce qu’ils me
cassent les couilles et me prennent trop de frais] , mais sur son
principal concurrent ebid. Les avantages de ebid sont les suivants ;
- Pour moi, moins de frais à payer
- Pour vous, des listings au prix de départ très bas

Il faudra ouvrir un compte ebid mais c’est très simple et rapide.
Ensuite, vous pourrez utiliser Paypal pour payer, comme sur ebay. Je
vais lister des centaines de milliers de cartes dans les mois à venir,
donc autant se lancer ;-)

This seems a lot like trying to sell cards through the newsgroup,
which is prohibited.*gears up to weather impending shitstorm*

Correct
but I have seen many people doing it those past weeks and nobody
complaining, so I thought that was tolerated now, in good
intelligence, since the products won't be sold in some time.

Well, not really. It is still against the charter and rules of the
newsgroup. And not really appropriate. There are other places where it
is appropriate.

Thanks for the announcement, Orian.

This newsgroup is the only place I would find out about these
auctions, since they are not on E-bay. From what I understand, Orian
has an appreciable inventory of cards whose sale at auction is worth
being noted in this, the principal worldwide English-language VTES
forum. He didn't list the inventory itself, thankfully.

I get VTES information from four principal sources: Jyhad Google
group, Extrala blogspot, my local VTES Google group (Los Angeles), and
Ebay VTES auctions (for buying cards). If it's not in one of those
places, I'm probably going to miss it. I don't know if I'm the only
one like that.

Which is nice and all, but still, the newsgroup charter does not
permit sales posts. Just like the WW forum does not permit sales
posts. And most reasonable discussion forums about, well, any game at
all don't permit sales posts. Which doesn't strike me as at all
unreasonable.

There are list serves and places where sales posts are completely
reasonable (the vtes trade google group. for example. Which this was
posted on.) The newsgroup, however, not so much.

Orion has a good point about other people doing sales posts here and
not having others tell them to stop. As much as we appreciate artists'
work on our cards and as much as the occasional sales post doesn't
clog up the newsgroup, they do have some impact on it by tempting
those who have to that point displayed restraint to make their own
sales posts. If this were a forum with a designated section for trades/
sales(see practically any VTES forum out there), it would be
different. Sorry to call you out Orion, I hope this rule can be
enforced more equitably in the future.

if this sort of info is of interest to you (sales posts), it might be worth
joining one of those other lists, which have sales posts. you can get an
email subscription, set it to weekly digest or whatever is least obtrusive
to you, and then you'll find out about sales posts.

this is probably a better solution than encouraging other people to breach
this newsgroup's charter.
