New janky deck idea

Dasein

11/23/2010 6:43:00 AM

OK I remember a few years ago, there was some crazy deck idea going
around involving getting Lasombra Black Hand guys with dom and obt in
varying degrees, putting lots of corporal reservoirs on them, doing
some kind of bloating antics (can't remember if it was blood dolls or
vessels or taps or similar), and using Descent Into Darkness to move
your vampires in and out of play. The Corporal Reservoirs all untap
when the vampire goes out of play because of some ruling about how
cards can't be tapped if they're out of play. You can rinse and
repeat. Use the bloat to bring out lots of guys with dom and obt and
bleed people out. Apparently it actually kinda worked.

Anyway I have a new crazy janky deck idea, and right now seems to be
season for new crazy janky deck ideas, so here it is.
I was thinking of a similar trick, but instead of Descent Into
Darkness, use the Lay Low action mod / combat card for anarchs that
triggers when you are burnt in a blood hunt.
So Black Hand Lasombra guys go anarch, eat people, and if others try
to burn them in a blood hunt, you Lay them Low to keep them alive AND
untap all their Corporal Reservoirs which you have been using to
bloat. If people don't vote for you to burn, no biggie, you get to eat
vampires and stay alive and that's a good thing.

Very silly and very janky! One route for getting into a blood hunt
could be diablerie via combat, the usual Arms / Entombment / Amaranth
combo, but including Lay Low that's a four card combo, which is pretty
damn unreliable. A simpler and more amusing route may be Baltimore
Purge, and eat the victims. (although this raises the question of why
I wouldn't just graverob them...)
Thoughts? Norm? Bueller??

Just make some sort of Count Zaroff Eats The World deck to cut all the
Lay Lows, Reservoirs and Dolls from the combo. Eat older vampires with
Zaroff and get a discipline master on him every time. When Zaroff goes
to the uncontrolled region he keeps his 5-7 blood but turns back into
a 4-cap while the discipline masters are out of play. Pull the excess
blood to your pool, bring him out again, rinse and repeat. Just be
sure to use aggrapoke or Rowan Ring for combat as you want Zaroff's
meals to be fat and juicy.

Had some experience with a Nizzam/Count Zaroff deck with hand
contracts and provisions for silsila, ousting mechanism is troublesome
outside of tensions though.

I always try to have 2-4 Drop Point Networks in Black Hand decks to
fetch any unique gear like Guarded Rubrics, Codex of the Edenic
Groundskeepers and so on.

If someone DIs your Lay Low, your vampire burns, which can be quite
annoying.

I don't see why it needs to be Lasombra, but as you may be suprised,
that is how it is working out.

Well, you could always drop the Anarch angle and just rely on Ebony
Fox Hunt (if you have the spare master phase actions).

Alternatively, you could include both Ebony Fox Hunt *and* Lay Low for
some extra backup.

Another possibility is to include one or two Dark Influences, which
(while in play) will protect your Lay Lows from being canceled.

Good point,

It was a fun deck to play so. Think I´ll give it a go again.
