What to do with 12 Illusions of the Kindred? (need Deck Idea

Martin Tibor Major

Hi folks!

I just traded myself 12 Illusions of the Kindred and since I never
ever played it and Ravnos is by far not a familiar clan to me, what do
you guys suggest I should play with them? Any deck list is highly
appreciated!

I'm not an expert either but I once encountered one of these decks; it
brought out ravnos illusions that played trap and apparition (usual
combo), possibly other damage sources and/or presses, so tried to bin
the opposing vampire and then played Amaranth to eat it. The blood
hunt is called on the Illusion vampire, not the real one; it burns or
doesn't, no matter, since it's not real anyway.
Can't remember how it got into combat (rushing, bleeding or blocking).
There are obvious problems here such as ousting potential, combat
ends, etc.

I've heard of such a deck with the Ravnos with Dementation.
Bleed power for the "real" Vampires and Coma - Amaranth for the
Illusions.
Bums rush and Kindred Spirits were the actions of the deck.

I'm sure by tomorrow Norm will have something like that here. ;)

I liked my old deck of multirushing Alexandra.
Give her a chimerstry card or preferably eye of hazimel. She rushes,
plays illusions and the incoming ALexandra untaps the original one,
then the illusion tries to burn the vamp with the agg ani strike and
amaranth, sprinkle in some celerity.
I used to also have a soul gem module in it to allow alexandra to
amaranth as well or to bleed without fear of archon investigation.
Good times.

IIRC there is a ruling regarding the illusion which says:
When the illusion would be burned during combat you choose wether it
is going in your ash heap or removed from the game. This means you
could use Redeem the lost Soul or do something else funny from there
on :-)

In addition there was some pondering about using CHI PRO vampires with
Body of Sun to ensure the burning part, which means 8 caps at 4 blood
can play BoS and will burn. Although this is easily foiled by S:CE of
course.

I'm too lazy to search for the link right now but I'm sure it's out
there.

I heard of such a deck. The combat combo I heard about was the cel
card (cant' remember the name) where you can burn X to get X
additional strikes. The fake Alexandra, after untapping the real one,
burns 10 blood for 10 additional strikes, which puts most people down
(who don't have skin of steel) :)

Illusions of Kindred + Amarath + Possession = Illusion burnt in
bloodhunt, but possessed to permanent control.

Ian Forrestal can do it with Gisela Harden as back up

Deck Name : Ian's Pretend Friends
Author : Norman S. Brown Jr
Description :
This is an Ian Forrestal deck where he uses Illusions of the Kindred
to put a vampire into play who can play Breath of Thanatos at superior
necromancy, then you play Amaranth on the vampire going to torpor.
You burn your own vampire in the bloodhunt by using Gisela's title,
and if you can make Ian Forrestal a cardinal. The deck is light on
master pool gain so you will have to use superior governs to enhance
your pool. You can possess your own burnt vampires back into play.

Dr. John Dee's Illusion can play Thoughts Betrayed twice to get to 0
blood and then Burst for 2R agg. Doesn't care about maneuvers or S:CE
and has a platform that can play Ankara Citadel, Second Trad,
Deflection and Parity Shift.

There are 39 decks featuring Illusions of the Kindred collected here:

So Long, and Thanks For all the Fish
by David Cherryholmes seems to be the only tournament winning deck
with more than 2 copies.

Thank you all for the imput, I really do appreciate. So far I think I
will build the deck around Lizette with Immortal Grapple, Claws of the
Dead and Amaranth. The original Lizette can also get Enkil Cog, which
is always fun :)
