apart from emailing to vtesratings, what else are you supposed to do
to post results for a tournament?

0) Emailing vtes ratings is only required when you fail the steps
below. (do to whatever cause)

1) Log into the White Wolf site, then find your event here:
http://www.white-wolf.com/events/index.php...

2) Click on the Event link. Something like this (for the Czech
National Championship):
http://www.white-wolf.com/events/eventdisplay.p...

3) Click on the Enter Results link.
(It will display View Results if the results have already been
entered.)
(It will have no link if you aren't logged in and the results haven't
been entered.)

4) Enter the number of players and other info.
5) Enter the player names and IDs and results.
5a) Do not use commas (,) in any fields that require numbers.
5b) Ensure that the names and IDs exactly match what is already in the
V:EKN database.

6) Post the TWDA with the required information on this newsgroup.

7) Bask in the gratitude of your local players for all of your
selfless volunteer efforts.

No, its fast and easy to code.

Talk to the ratings replacement team (Jussi H + Johannes W + et. al.)
if you want something different in the future.

It takes about 3 minutes to enter the results for 20 players if you
know how to do it.

The only thing that takes time is checking that the VEKN Ids the
players give are correct, and it can be done ahead.

Afterwards, all you have to do is go on the VEKN Report tab, and copy
+paste from the excel window to your browser window using alt-tab. I
copy+paste only the name and VEKN Number, and I type the number of
rounds (usually 4) and the GW+VP.

When you're used to it, it's really fast.

Yeah, emailing vtesratings is really only something you need to do if
you desperately want someone else to input your data rather than
inputting it yourself. And really, it is much easier and more
considerate to do it yourself.

Putting the data in the web system is easy, quick, and requires
nothing but:

A) player VEKN number
B) rank in the tournament (1, 2, 6+ are the only numbers you actually
need)
C) game wins and VPs per player.

That is all. You go to the tournament calendar on the WW website,
click "report results" on the event page that you are reporting (i.e.
go to the calendar, click on your event, a little window pops open
with specific info on the event, including a "report results" button),
and fill in the above information in the form presented. It takes,
like, 5 minutes. Tops.

Submit and you are done. No need to e-mail files to anyone. The
results show up pretty quickly. Granted, the ranking scores no longer
get adjusted, but the events and GWs and VPs show up on each player's
page, which is kind of cool to keep track of (i.e. I don't care that
my world wide ranking is no longer being calculated, but it is fun to
see that I used to be *much* better at this game than I am these
days...)

I still occasionally see people using my hacky CGI that was built
to make this lookup step easier.. As long as white-wolf has the
definitive player database, it should work.
