Just a proof-of-concept multiplayer roguelike. Ehhh, hope I finish it
and if not then sometime after the contest. Is a winner going to be
selected?

Best of luck, all.

Good luck, John!

There is no ultimate winner. If you create a complete and working
roguelike, you have successfully completed the challenge.

Create a website for it by your own or use an existing site to upload it. If
you make it Open Source, you can use SourceForge.

Don't know. I don't use it. Many others do. There are many roguelikes which
are developed only for Windows (although it gets better). Do you ask
because you have to decide for a platform?

Hm... you could try FreePascal or Java.

Hmm, since m$ stopped supporting java in ie out-of-the-box, java is
dead. If I were feeling adventurous, I'd pick mono instead, but ...
noone here seems to use/like mono, so... it's c++ and cygwin for winblows.

I think you wrote you were a professional programmer, why don't you keep
an eye on skills you can sell outside of r.g.r.development?

No. I never wrote I'm a professional programmer, and if you understood one
of my statements in that way I really have to practise my english ;)

Anyway, what do you mean by

?

As far as I know, Java is the standard language taught in computer
science courses. If not, I'm going to be ticked off at my college in
four years.
