Edmonon Continues Anti-Business- Worldwide Bad Publicity, More Coming

The situation where Edmonton council voted against having a Walmart as
part of another $300 million development, is but the latest incident
where the city gets more bad publicity.

Have you all forgotten the incident, when members of council told the
multi-millionaires who developed the HOPS Handbag building in
Edmonton's Jasper Avenue, " to go back where you came from, if you
don't like what we are doing to you?!" This to multi-millionaires from
Hong Kong, who then made sure the media and other potential investors
throughout SE Asia knew how rotten this city is.

Then, the former disgraced mayor, Bill Smith went on to antagonise
multi-billionaire investors from Germany. He had made an appointment to
meet 13 delegates from Berlin, who had flown halfway around the world,
to consider possible business ventures in Deadmonton, at the Mayor's
request. When they showed up, at his designated time and day, Smith
refused to meet with the delgation! They then took the next plane to
Calgary, and did business there instead. Smith was then known
throughout Germany as "Burgermeister Arschloch".

The fact that Deadmonton had to bribe DELL Computers with $91 million
of taxpayer money, for them to set up a call-center, antagonised
competitors such as HP, who had not been offered such funds.

Mind you, the city had refused to help LEVI-STRAUSS keep the 500 jobs
which the city lost when Levi closed down after almost 100 years in
town!!

Major businesses have relocated regional management from Deadmonton to
Calgary, in protest to the anti-business policies of Deadmonton. These
have included Safeway, Save-On, Superstore, Shaw Cable, and even Allied
Van Lines formerly managed by an executive of EDE {Economic Development
Edmonton}. Even Pepsi moved their bottling plant to Calgary.

And the whole world now knows about all the corruption and criminality
of so many police officers, from police chiefs down!!

Media now report that the crime in this city is now comparable to New
York.

There are no Levi - Strauss plants in North America. All of their
manufacturing is done in Asia. You can thank the Wall Marts etc. for
the export of jobs to Asia.

The rest of this post, is a load of himmelfart. It has been posted
here before. I don't know why you continue to post it.

judgejudy hasn't a clue about what she/it was writing.

Levi-Strauss would have stayed in town, with the 500 jobs, had the city
even tried to keep them here.
The city just did not want them in Deadmonton, and so did not bother to
offer any incentices, as they have done with Triple5 [600 millions from
the city], or DELl [$91 million per the Edmonton Journal].

Mind you, all the other businesses that have left, or gone BANKRUPT
because of the city didn't help either.

Have you forgotten that EAGLE HARDWARE from the USA went bankrupt
because of the city?
WOODWARDS Department chain ditto.
Then there was DEBAJI's.
And the list could go on, and on....

Business people around the globe are now spreading the word, to avoid
even considering establishing any business in the anti-business dump of
Edmonton,Canada - not to be confused with Edmonton, England.
