There's this swamp, see ...

Kailua, on the windward side of O`ahu, is one very sweet place to hang
out. We started, like most visitors, on the beach, which is regularly
listed as one of the top two or three stretches of sand and ocean in
the world. But after a few years of travel here we've started to
explore a little further inland.

We spent the month of February in a loaner house up the hill from
Kailua town proper, and I noticed with new interest the vast wetlands
between the town and the mountains. A little exploration and I
discovered that this is a key feature of the local history and
geography, having evolved from a bay to a brackish lake to a wetlands
over the last 5-6000 years. This area is now known as Kawainui Marsh,
and is a critical part of the local flood control system.

I went shooting with my little Panasonic Lumix TS1 waterproof dust-
proof drop-proof (from 5 feet onto a 3/4" plywood board) pocket
camera. I spent a few hours doing takes of "Lei Nani" with the H2
audio recorder, and a few days catching various color shots (b-roll, I
understand this is called), then a week or so stitching it all
together in my new toy, Edius Neo Booster.

So, care for a little tour of Kawainui Marsh and the Olopu Heiau?

Fran, that was beautiful. The gorgeous tune complimented the film
wonderfully. Just wondering. The audio was great as was the video,
that was the audio from the H2?
Thanks again for taking the time to make the video.
