NBC) RIP ROTTEN HOUND

selfglorifyingoldtimer

9/1/2006 9:02:00 PM

Jesse Albert, October 21 1994-September 1 2006, died today after a long
illness. Mr. Hound leaves behind two adoring human siblings, two loving
human adoptive parents, one canine sibling, and four feline siblings. He
was born in Princeton, NJ and named partly after Albert Einstein whom he
in no way resembled. He was a graduate of the Citizen Kanine Doggie
Obedience school in NJ. He worked at a variety of careers including
Nanny to two children and associate Nanny to many neighborhood children,
Protector, Playmate, Baseball Player ( who once played briefly with the
Flemington Neshanics as an uninvited outfielder), Fetcher of Sticks, and
Friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed swimming, riding in the car,
camping, chasing cars , and was able to balance a rope toy on the end of
his nose until his humans told him "OK" at which point he would toss it
off his nose and catch it with his mouth to the astonishment of all who
watched. He occasionally tried to speak English and was once heard
saying "tomato" quite clearly. He lived in New Jersey his entire life
and had the good luck to hear Mr. Springsteen rehearse his reunion tour
in 1998 while Mr. Hound played on the beach. His ashes will be scattered
at the Ken Lockwood Gorge in Califon NJ. Donations in his name to any
animal shelter would be a nice gesture but certainly not necessary.

He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

P.S. You were right, Greg, we did know when it was time.

Ruth,

That was a beautifully written and very touching tribute, and I am going to
save it. I'm sorry you won't have him in your house anymore, but I think
you'll find that his new home in your heart will be just as nice.

If love died along with death, this life wouldn't be so hard.

Thinking of you . . . and smiling at the thought of a Rotten Hound capable of
saying "tomato."

Who knows what he whispered in your ears while you slept?

Rest easy, RH.

Hugs.

He called you a *tomato* and you stood for that?

You must really have loved that dog!

The happy unconditional love of dogs makes their loss very sad indeed.
You can be glad he enjoyed a life as a valued member of a loving pack.
Bless you for providing a fine life, and for the courage to help him
with the right decisions at the end.

GBU....and RIP indeed

I am so sorry for yours and your family's loss, Ruth. Maybe he's
ordering a bacon, lettuce and tom-ah-to sandwich at the hound dog
heavenly cafe right now.....

bless you for being such a good friend to him.
