Once again, you illustrate that you are a low intelligence voter.

Why are you surprised that there are years that Trump paid no *income*
tax? It is a well know fact. That is the way of being a real estate
developer.

There are years when a developer has huge development costs and little
to no income. The costs exceed the income and there is NO NET INCOME to
tax.

Hence there is no *income* tax.

Is that clear enough for your intellectual depth?

1. I'm not surprised, nor did I write that I was.
2. No, it's not a "well know fact". You made that up.
3. Trump lost the case. So much for "winning".

First, I am not a Trump supporter, but I do defend is stance on not
releasing his tax returns. I don't believe that any political candidate
should be required to release his/her tax returns.

NOW, about Trump paying "no taxes". Here is an incredibly ignorant
reporter writing an incredibly biased article on the subject[1].

The title of the article stated that: "Trump once revealed his income
tax returns. They showed he didn?t pay a cent."

FIRST: that is bullshit. Trump paid plenty of income tax, but there
were two years where he didn't pay any.

The article stated why:
"State records summarizing the returns show that Trump claimed that his
combined income during those two years was negative $3.8 million,
allowing him to pay no taxes."

NO income equates to NO income tax.

There are two reasons why I claimed that the author was incredibly ignorant:

1. After say Trump paid not taxes, the author claimed, "A few years
earlier, he had told the New York Times he was worth more than $200
million." The idiot reporter does not know the difference between
income and wealth.

2. The idiot reporter claimed "Trump pays very low income taxes, or no
taxes at all, using tactics available to wealthy investors and
developers, such as depreciating the value of real estate."

The idiot reporter is ignorant of how depreciation works.

YOU posted that article as a citation and I asked YOU to defend that
statement. I asked YOU to explain how a developer pays LESS in taxes by
using depreciation rather than deduction the expense in the year of the
expense.

You have FAILED to respond.

SO, I ask you again: Please explain how a developer pays LESS in taxes
by using depreciation rather than deducting the expense in the year of
the expense.
